When packing up, I realized I had few belongings
here for ten years.

Daniel pushed the door and entered, which surprised me. He looked puzzled when he saw me packing up. “What are you doing?”
“The medical conference, as I said that day. I have to be out of town for a while,” I said.
He nodded. “You’ll go to Samuel’s parent–teacher conference this time.”
Saying this, he looked at me condescendingly as if expecting my gratitude.
Samuel never allowed me to go to his parent–teacher conference, saying it’d embarrass him.
“There’s a lot going on at the hospital. I don’t have time,” I said.
Daniel looked at me. In his eyes, I was a vain woman who jumped at every chance to flaunt my title of Mrs. Trivett, and he was pissed off at the fact that I didn’t cherish the chance he gave me. “Don’t regret it.”
With that, he turned to leave.
I couldn’t find the little black ceramic cat after looking everywhere. It was a gift from Daniel when we first met in childhood. That day, he wiped away my tears gently and handed it to me. “It’ll comfort you on my behalf. Don’t cry.”
I went downstairs to look for it. At the corner, I saw it in Dana’s hand. In the darkness, she no longer bothered to put on an act.

I knew I was lying to myself. I never got pregnant during the past ten years, and these days, Daniel was busy taking care of Dana and forgot to bring me milk, and I was pregnant

He smiled at me wickedly.
Daniel’s eyes darkened with fury, and he slapped me hard.
“You wanna hurt Dana? You got to pay the price.”
I clutched my belly instinctively. “No! Daniel, I didn’t push her…
He shoved me down and left with Dana and Samuel.
I fell to the ground hard, the searing pain overwhelming me, shattering my fifteen–year love for Daniel instantly.
Daniel asked his assistant to call for an ambulance. At hospital, his
