Chapter 119
“What are you laughing at?” Jasmine asked, offended. She furrowed her perfect brows at him, she was unhappy with the way he laughed at her.
“Stay here, princess,” he said in light tone and then shifted into his beast to hung for the two of them.
Thankfully, half an hour later when he returned, he came with a few chunks of meat, so Jasmine didn’t need to be traumatized by a whole dead rabbit that he brought with him.
“Can you make fire?‘ Kellan asked and then immediately answered his own question. “No, obviously not. What am I expected from a princess.”
“Hey, why you make it sounded like my title is a bad thing?” Jasmine was upset with this man. She didn’t think it was a good idea to stay with him for long time, because she felt like they would end up clawing each other’s faces.
“No, princess. I like your title.” Kellan winked at her and then started to work on the dry branches that he could find to make fire, so they could eat.
But, it was hard to do so, especially when it was in the middle of the winter. Even though shifter usually didn’t feel cold easily, since they were hot blood creature, but tonight was exceptionally cold. Jasmine hugged herself and waited for Kellan to do the job.
And to her surprised, he did the job well. He made fire and then roasted the meat. The smell was good, probably because she was hungry and even though it was not seasoned, the meat was juicy and soft.
“When did you learn all of this? I thought you are the crown prince of your kingdom?”
“Being the crown prince doesn’t mean I am not allowed to learn the basic skill to survive.”
Jasmine hummed. “You are right.” She enjoyed her meat immensely and then finished it in no time. And now, with her stomach full, she felt energized.
Kellan was right, they wouldn’t be able to continue to move on or even run away to save their life if they were hungry, but Jasmine wouldn’t admit that.
“What we should do now?” Jasmine asked, she was at lost. “We need to find Ethan.”
“That’s the problem.” Kellan didn’t even sugarcoat his words. “We don’t know whether he is still alive or they had killed him.” “Don’t say something like that!” Jasmine was mortified, yet Kellan simply shrugged his shoulders.
“You need to be logical at time like this.” Kellan then pointed it out that Ethan had not yet come to the spot where he told her to go and there was no sign of him anywhere.
And if they decided to leave and played hero, as they tried to save him, there was no guarantee they would deliver themselves to the hand of the enemy.
“Imagine your enemy have two important people in two kingdoms, do you think they will let you go just because you are the princess? If anything, they will use it against you.” Kellan paused, he gauged her reaction and when he was sure that the reality finally sunk in, he then added. “The fact that they are here right now, is a proof enough that they breached the territory of your kingdom, which mean they paid no regards for your father. The worse case scenario? My dear brother has a plan to invade your kingdom, which he already did right now by sending the warriors here. For them to have you in their palm will cause trouble for your father. Do you think your father will give up on you? Do you know the grievances that your father had to go through if he had to choose between you and the kingdom?”
Jasmine was silent for the whole time Kellan rant about it, she knew that she was wrong to insist to go looking for Ethan. She couldn’t even defend herself and Kellan was right, the enemy would use her to oppress her father.
“What we should do now?” Jasmine bit her lip to prevent herself from crying.
“We need to get to Great Darren city, if we Ethan didn’t return tomorrow.” So, they would need to wait for one more day for him. “If he doesn’t come, we will go without him.”
Great Darren city was the safest destination for them, because the two towns nearby had been under the control of the

enemies and they didn’t know how far they had penetrated the kingdom. They had been isolated since they were in this quiet corner of the mountain, thus they couldn’t hear any news.
“Okay,” Jasmine agreed readily. She felt bad because they had to leave Ethan behind, but there was nothing they could do about it. Kellan’s explanation was logical.
“Let’s go back. We can sleep here.” Kellan stood up and stretched out his hand to help Jasmine to stand up.
This time, they returned to that cracked tree in their human form, as they enjoyed the quietness of ‘

It was rather gloomy and dark tonight, because the moon couldn’t be seen in the murky sky and the sow fell every now and

Jasmine hugged herself, she glanced at Kellan and then counted her steps, because she didn’t know what to do or what to say
to him.
Should she try to initiate a conversation?
Jasmine was thinking about this when suddenly Kellan grabbed her elbow and stopped her from walking forward.
“Wha…” Jasmine didn’t finish her question when Kellan covered her mouth, his expression turned very stern.
“Sst!”
Lycan had a strong sense, thus while Jasmine was still unable to pick up the scent in the air, Kellan was already able to do so and he gestured for Jasmine to come with him quietly.
Jasmine followed behind the lycan and saw the tree, where they had been staying for a few nights had been surrounded by the warriors, some of them were in their beast form.
“They are not far! Find them!”
