Chapter 12
Joaquin, one of Jericho’s father’s three brothers, was Mona and
Hayden’s late-life child. He wasn’t much older than Jericho.
Years ago, Joaquin had started his own business on his own.
And now, he was the owner of his commercial empire, with
assets and influence dwarfing those of the entire Bowman
family.
No one in the business world dared to cross him, let alone the
Bowman family.
Purchase completed
Jericho parted his lips, but no words came out.
Just then, the family doctor walked downstairs. Kashton’s
condition wasn’t serious, and he had already been medicated.
After the doctor left, Jericho insisted again, “Romina, as I said
before, we have to settle this tonight.”
“You know what? I agree. Since everyone’s here today, I invite
all of you to be our witnesses.”
Romina walked to the sofa and swiftly took out a document
from her bag.
Then she turned to Jericho and put it in front of him.
Chapter 12
As he picked it up, a trace of astonishment flashed across his
eyes.
She had already drafted a divorce agreement?
“Sign this. From today on, we’ll have nothing to do with each
other” Romina said.
With that, she decisively turned around and left under
everyone’s gaze.
As Jericho stared at her retreating figure, his hand, clutching
the papers, trembled uncontrollably.
The papers felt like a silent slap in his face.
“Good for you, Romina!” he thought.
Under the warm light, Joaquin’s eyes flickered obscurely.
He curved his lips.
What a great drama tonight.
Outside the mansion, Romina took out her phone, wanting to
call a cab on a ride-hailing app.
But given the remote location, no one responded even after ten
minutes.
Gritting her teeth, she headed downhill by the road.
There was no way she’d go back.
How humiliating would that be?
After a few minutes, she suddenly felt dizzy.
She instinctively reached out and felt her forehead.
It was burning.
She realized she was running a fever again.
Just then, headlights illuminated the road behind her.
As the Maybach passed by her, it came to a stop.
The rear window rolled down slowly.
As she turned around, Joaquin said, “Need a ride, Ms. Sandoval?”
Romina was slightly stunned when she met the man’s deep-set
eyes.
Joaquin?
What was he doing here?
The outer corners of his eyes tilted upward, his gaze under the
dim light unreadable.
The scene from earlier at the Bowman’s mansion grated on her
nerves.
For a moment, she didn’t know how to respond.
“It’s gonna take at least an hour to walk down from here,” he
said, his voice low and hoarse. “You’re not planning on walking
all the way down, are you?”
But that had indeed been her plan.
After all, she knew very well that Jericho wouldn’t come after
her, let alone give her a ride.
Thankfully, Joaquin was here.
“Thank you, Uncle Joaquin.” She sat in and felt dizzy again.
If she hadn’t grabbed the door handle in time, she’d have
collapsed.
www
The splitting headache was killing her.
“What did you call me?”
Just then, his deep voice rang out again.
She instinctively looked aside. As she met his deep eyes, a wild
thought hit her.
Joaquin was still single-he hadn’t even been involved in any
romantic rumors.
Chapter 12
Her chances of climbing back up on her own were slim.
Before she could dwell on it, another wave of dizziness surged through her.
This time, it was even fiercer.
In the next second, she collapsed uncontrollably.
Almost instinctively, Joaquin raised his hand and gripped her
shoulder.
A faint scent of violet wafted over at once.
It smelled so familiar.
He had smelled it somewhere before.
From the moment he saw her, she struck him as familiar.
But today was their first encounter… Wasn’t it?
“Ms. Sandoval? Ms. Sandoval…”
He couldn’t help but frown as he looked down at her.
