“Ambrose, you’ve got it wrong! It’s my sister….”
“Enough!” Ambrose cut her off, his voice sharp and filled with disdain. He clenched his jaw, his gaze piercing as
it locked onto Scarlett “How much longer do you plan to spin your lies?”
That morning, his assistant William had unearthed the truth about Scarlett’s past. The pristine, angelic image
she had cultivated was nothing more than an elaborate façade.
Since their high school days, Scarlett had woven herself into a tangled mess of scandalous relationships.
Every man who dared to show even a flicker of interest in Hazel, Scarlett found a way to pull them into her web.
using seduction as her weapon
Ambrose was no exception, just another pawn in her carefully orchestrated game.
As for the so–called “chance encounter” she had painted so vividly, it was nothing but a fabrication.
Scarlett had eloped with a struggling singer, seeking escape from her grim reality, and when she learned of Ambrose’s presence nearby, she staged the perfect act to reel him in.
The weight of the revelations hit Ambrose hard, and fury surged through him. His hands trembled at his sides as he wrestled with the anger threatening to consume him entirely.
However, he didn’t have time to dwell on further investigations, his only focus was finding Hazel and unraveling. the truth from years ago,
Fate, however, had its own plans. By sheer chance, he ended up saving Hazel.
“Scarlett, drop the act! You never loved me! You only used me to hurt Hazel!”
“I was blind… I lost the one who truly loved me because of a woman like you.”
Hazel stood there, watching the confrontation with a tangle of emotions she couldn’t quite sort through.
The three of them had been bound together in a messy web for over two decades.
One was the man she had once loved so deeply, and the other was the woman she had once loathed with all her heart.
But now, the man she had cherished seemed utterly ridiculous, while the woman she had despised appeared heartbreakingly pathetic..
Scarlett, on the other hand, was a picture of endless conflict. To her, the world was nothing but a battleground. She didn’t know what love truly was and likely never would.

Scarlett had completely lost sight of one simple truth; by walking away from these so–called “prizes,” she could have embraced the vast and boundless opportunities the world had to offer.
And Ambrose?
He was nothing more than a self–righteous, greedy hypocrite, a wolf in sheep’s clothing, hiding his beastly nature beneath a polished exterior.
Hazel fixed her gaze on him, her voice steady and cutting. “You really disgust me.
Without sparing him another glance, she turned on her heel. But her path was blocked by the flashing lights of a police car.
The earlier commotion had been so loud that a passerby, unable to ignore it, had secretly called the police. Hazel was taken to the station for questioning.
She had every intention of holding Scarlett accountable, but without surveillance cameras in the area or concrete evidence, her case fell apart.
The matter was left unresolved, and her frustration only deepened.
As for Ambrose, his public assault on Scarlett had been witnessed by many, and it could have easily led to serious legal repercussions.
But Scarlett, ever calculating, refused to cooperate.
“He’s my lover. We were just playing around. He loves me so much that he got carried away. I don’t blame him.”
The officers exchanged weary glances, their disbelief mirrored in Hazel’s expression.
In the end, Ambrose walked away without charges, though he was flagged as a person of interest for
observation.
Hazel’s plans to swim had been dashed in an instant. She had intended to hail a taxi and head home, but before she could take a step, she saw her mother rushing toward her, panic in her eyes.
“Are you alright? Did anyone hurt you?”
“I’m fine. Let’s just go home.”
Hazel gave her mother a warm smile, linking arms with her as they walked away.
Gianna gaze shot daggers at Scarlett and Ambrose, her fury barely contained.
“I’ll tell you this much. The Bell family may not be what it once was, but I won’t let anyone harm my daughter on my turf. And I certainly won’t let anyone take her from me.”
“If there’s a next time,” she added, her tone sharp as a knife, “I’ll make sure you pay the price.
With that, she took Hazel by the arm, her steps full of purpose as they left
As they emerged from the police station, Hazel leaned against her mother, her mood softening as she allowed herself to be taken care of.
“Mom you were s
