“Over twenty years of love, can you truly just forget it like that?”
A breeze brushed past, sweeping the weight of sadness from Hazel’s heart.
Without looking back, she spoke, her voice cold.
“I can forget”
“When you were with Scarlett, didn’t you forget about me completely? The pain you can handle, I can too.”
“So stop wasting your time on me. Go back to Scarlett or anyone else; just stop bothering me.”
Hazel kept walking forward, unwavering.

Running Away from Mage Lopiniond
She was LIKE ACTIOTUSE, endlessly looking back at WI Was Denimo nel
It wasn’t until Hazel’s figure had vanished into the night that Ambrose, a hollow shell of the man he once was, turned and slowly made his way home.
He walked in a daze, unable to comprehend how the girl he once knew so well had transformed into someone so unfamiliar.
Countless thoughts, too tangled to voice, swirled inside him.
But before he could sit and reflect, a report from Assistant William broke his trance.
Scarlett had tried to end her own life.
“The chaos caused by Madam running away from the wedding, with the Smith family stoking the fire from behind
the scenes… The Wright family has used every connection, but we still couldn’t contain the fallout ”
“Miss Jones has been trying to reach you but couldn’t get through. After facing a constant barrage of online attacks, she broke. She couldn’t take it anymore… and swallowed pills in an attempt to end it all.”
Ambrose’s heart dropped. “How is she?”
“She was saved just in time. She’s not in any serious danger.”
Assistant William noted the unusual calm in Ambrose’s response.
In the past, anything involving Scarlett would have been the center of his world.
Ambrose would have dropped billion–dollar contracts, skipped vital meetings, and even left his fiancée without a
second thought for her.
But this time, with something as grave as Scarlett’s suicide attempt, he barely flinched.
Before speaking carefully, Assistant William hesitated, recalling Claudia’s earlier words.
“Mr. Wright, you’ve been here a while, and there’s still so much to be done with the company”
“Several shareholders are growing discontent and are planning to unite to remove you from your position. And with everything going on with Miss Jones… Madam thinks it’s best to return home as soon as possible”
He couldn’t bring himself to repeat Claudia’s exact words. Still, he remembered her sharply worded advice: Don’t waste your energy on people who don’t matter.
When Scarlett had first entered the picture, everyone had whispered that Ambrose would surely call off the wedding for her.
After all, it was no secret how deep his feelings for Scarlett ran.
But no one had expected it to be Hazel, the one who had quietly endured it all, who would be the one to walk
away, to sever the ties that had once bound them.
At that moment, Assistant William understood.
No matter who came into his life, the one person Ambrose could never truly replace was Hazel.
He might have shared close bonds with many women, like Scarlett, but the only woman who would always hold the title of Mrs. Wright in Ambrose’s heart was Hazel.
Ambrose sank into deep thought, the weight of Assistant William’s words settling heavily on his shoulders.
He couldn’t deny the truth in them
The Wright family had built its empire over generations of relentless effort, no single mistake of his could bring it
crashing down.
But what did that mean for Hazel?
Returning home now would mean closing the door on any future with her, and that was something Ambrose
wasn’t ready to accept.
He couldn’t let go of Hazel, not when she had always been his anchor.

Pacing restlessly across the room, his mind raced through a thousand possibilities.
The thought of losing Scarlett, of never seeing her again, brought a bitter pang of sadness, a reminder of the tenderness he had once felt.
