In my last life, after Caleb and I got together, I once asked him why he liked me.
Caleb had said, “Even though you’re the housekeeper’s daughter, you always act with integrity, never bowed down or acted meek.
“You seem gentle, but you have a fierce streak, always capable of handling problems on your own. A WEL
“I love your diligence, your independence, your self–respect.
“Being with you, I feel incredibly safe!”
And all these qualities I possessed, the ones Caleb loved, Chloe lacked.

She wasn’t interested in studying, always dreaming of marrying a rich man to skyrocket her status.
In the past life, even going abroad cost Mom a lot of money; she just shoved Chloe into some unknown university, simply because it was in the same country as Caleb.
Chloe was also timid and cowardly. Every time we had a conflict, she never dared to confront me directly.
She would either run to Mom to back her up or secretly pull some strings behind my back to retaliate.
Someone like her, even if reborn, even if placed right beside Caleb, Caleb would never fall for her.
Chloe looked at the school name on my ID badge, her face filled with disbelief.
“No way, Maple Leaf High didn’t even sign up for this debate competition! How can you be here?”
Caleb’s eyes darkened.
“Do you know what you’re saying? Maple Leaf High is the champion of this debate competition.”
Chloe’s eyes flickered, then she looked sharply at me.
It seemed she realized I had also been reborn.
I subtly raised an eyebrow at her.
A flash of horror crossed Chloe’s eyes, and she shrieked at Caleb.
“Caleb, she lied to you! She knew you were going to be in this debate competition, so she schemed to get close to you, just to meet you!”
Caleb’s tone was impatient.
“I’m sorry, Anya and I met a long time ago! I remember you. You’re the housekeeper’s daughter.
“At home, you never followed the rules, constantly sneaking upstairs.
“Sis, Young Mr. Donovan is threatening to fire Mom! Aren’t you going to say something for her?”
The young man in front of me stiffened, then turned, looking at me questioningly.
I calmly nodded.
“She’s my sister, Chloe.”
The murmuring started again.
“They’re sisters? So that means she’s also the housekeeper’s daughter.”
“Young Mr. Donovan must be under some kind of spell. What kind of people is he hanging out with?”
“Why do these sisters seem so distant?”
The students at Westview Academy were all from wealthy or influential families.
To them, a housekeeper’s daughter was simply not worthy of being involved with Caleb.
My teammates couldn’t stand it anymore.
“What’s wrong with being a housekeeper’s daughter? I’m a cleaning lady’s daughter, and we still beat your school!”
“I’m a taxi driver’s son! So what? If you’re so great, prove it in the competition!”
The scene quickly devolved into chaos.
Chloe smiled triumphantly.

“We’re both housekeepers‘ daughters. Who among us could possibly deserve Young Mr. Donovan?”
I sneered inwardly.
She couldn’t have him, so she didn’t want me to have him either.
Too bad, she didn’t know Caleb at all.
Caleb’s gaze grew softer,
“So, these are the family members who abandoned you.”
I smiled brightly.
“I’m happy today. Let’s not talk about unpleasant things.”
Caleb understood immediately.
“Then let’s go. Time for dinner.”
I pulled my still–arguing teammates, and we followed Caleb out.
From a distance, I saw Chloe’s venomous gaze.
I subtly curled my lips.
The show had just begun!
