Chapter 7
In the interrogation room, Madison was crying her eyes out, claiming innocence.]
“We were just messing around! It’s not our fault they can’t take a joke!“]
“Besides, every freshman class has these unwritten rules. It’s not like I made them up–why am I the only one getting arrested!“]
The officer slammed a stack of medical records and statements in front of her.]]
“You call THIS messing around?! Forcing alcohol until someone got a perforated stomach, making people crawl and bark like dogs, taking compromising photos!“]
“Do you realize you’ve broken the law?!“]
His harsh tone scared Madison into silence.]
She stared at the photos and testimonies, mumbling: “How is this possible… we always played like this… how is it illegal…“[]
“Also, here’s the damage claim filed by Scarlett Whitmore. You trespassed and destroyed property worth over ten million–total damages of twelve million. You owe the bulk–ten million. The other two million gets split among everyone else who was there.“]
Madison looked up in disbelief, her voice shrill: “That bitch Scarlett! Why should I pay when Ryan’s the one who brought me there!”
“Can’t control her own man so she takes it out on other women–what a sore loser!“]
The officer looked at her with disgust, shook his head, and walked out.[]
Ryan was just coming out of the next room.]]
The hospital’s injury report showed minor harm–Ryan dodged a bullet.[]
But my dad charged up and slapped him hard across the face:[]
“I was dead WRONG about you, you little shit! Can’t believe you’d actually hit Scarlett over some other bitch! I’ve never laid a finger on that kid in her entire life, and you put her in the goddamn hospital! What the fuck is wrong with you?!“]
Ryan’s dad immediately rushed over, bowing and apologizing while kicking Ryan.[]
“Please forgive us, David. This is our fault. Maybe I can have the boy apologize to Scarlett in person?“]
My dad could see right through their scheme and shut it down:[]
“No need, Marcus. From now on our families can stay friends, but this in–law business…“[]
“Let’s pretend it never happened! Your son isn’t good enough for my family!“]
Ryan’s face went white and he dropped to his knees.
“Uncle David, please! Tell me where Scarlett is! I know I screwed up–I’ll apologize to her face!“]
Chapter 7
My dad snorted and walked away without another word.[]
Ryan stumbled up, trying to follow, but the officer stopped him.[]
“There’s something else you should probably see.“[]
With that, the officer handed him a test report with Madison’s name on it.[]
It clearly read: HIV–1 antibody test result: POSITIVE.[]
Ryan stood there like he’d been struck by lightning.
“Given that you had intimate contact with her, we strongly recommend immediate hospital testing. Luckily you’re still in the window period–you can take preventive medication. Wait much longer and your life’s basically over.“[]
“Look, don’t stress too much. You’re not the first guy she’s fooled. Our records show she’s infected over a dozen male students in the past two years. But you might be the luckiest.“]
Ryan gripped the report so tight his knuckles went white.]
Suddenly, he started dry heaving uncontrollably.
Just then, Madison stumbled out of the interrogation room looking defeated. Seeing Ryan, she grabbed onto him like a lifeline.
“Ryan, save me! Your family’s loaded, right? Get me a good lawyer! You can’t just abandon
me!”
Ryan recoiled like she was poison, throwing the report in her face.]
“Save you?! I want to fucking KILL you right now!”
“Madison, you better watch your back. I’m going to make you pay for what you’ve done!”
