“But don’t worry. As long as Emily doesn’t bother me again, I won’t go after her.” Hearing this, Lily’s eyes lit up. She hurriedly shoved the package into my hands.
Seeing I wouldn’t take it, she forced it into my hands and quickly ran away.
As she ran, she shouted, “Liam, you used to love the bread I baked. I baked some more for you as an apology.”
By the time I reacted, Lily was already gone.
When I was a freshman in high school, my mom wasn’t around. Every time Emily visited, she would bring the bread her mom baked, which I envied.
