Chapter 9
Jessica’s words stunned me.[]
A voice in my head kept telling me.[]

If I didn’t deal with Jessica, I would never have a moment’s peace in this life.]
In the following days, I increased the security at both my office and my home.]]]
I didn’t see Jessica again, but I saw Tyler often.[]
He would always leer at me from a distance.]
When he saw me looking, he would even call out mockingly.[]
“Honey, I came to see you again! We all miss you!“]
All while making disgusting hip–thrusting gestures.]

me and verbally harassed me for the hundredth time.]]
I finally thought of a way to solve this once and for all.]
Finally, one evening, Jessica, using her small frame, managed to hide in the trunk of my car.
After the car pulled into my private garage, she took out a knife and plunged it into “my” body, again and again.]
All the while, she was raving.
“One more time, I want my original life back! This time, it will be the one I want!“]
“I still have a chance. I still have a choice!“]
She laughed maniacally, her hands a blur of motion.]]
Blood stained the concrete floor and reddened her eyes.[]
But she didn’t seem to notice that the panicked cries were all too familiar to her.
And that the face under the hat was not mine,
Only when the person beneath her went still did Jessica, panting heavily, finally stop.]
As if to gloat, she kicked “my” body a few times.[]

“So what if you’re a billionaire’s daughter? You still get killed by me, time and time again.“[]
The kick was so forceful that it flipped the motionless body over.[]
Chapter 9
The hat fell off.
With just one glance, her eyes widened in shock.[]
The person lying in a pool of blood wasn’t me at all. It was Tyler.]]
She yelped and scrambled backward, tripping and falling to the ground.[]
“It’s over. How could it be you? If Mom and Dad find out, they’ll kill me!“]]
The garage lights flickered, casting shadows across her face that highlighted her terror.
Jessica gathered her courage and checked for a breath under Tyler’s nose. There was none.
She gasped for air and fled the scene in a panic.[]
I sat at my desk, watching the security footage on the monitor, and dialed 911.
The first people to find Jessica weren’t the police, but her parents.[]
They knew their daughter all too well: insecure, arrogant, and ultimately, a coward.
Jessica’s mother looked at her, her teeth clenched with hatred.[]
She sold her daughter to a family in a backward village.
Later, I heard that her life was a living hell, that she was forced to bear child after child.]
She eventually died in a filthy pigsty.
It wasn’t until years later, when a new census reached that small village.]
That people finally learned that the woman who had been wanted for murder for so long had died there.[]
For a long time after that, Jessica’s parents wouldn’t leave me alone.]
They insisted that since their son died on my property, I must have had something to do with it.]
The police investigated over and over, but all they could prove was that Tyler had been stalking me.[]
He had even stolen my car after I’d left the keys in it and driven it back to my residence.
The security guard at my gated community recognized my car, so he let Tyler in easily after he claimed he was just dropping it off for me.]]
And using the garage remote on my keychain, he had gotten into my villa.[]
As for what he intended to do, it was easy to imagine.]]
Faced with such irrefutable evidence, they had nothing to say.
Under my forceful control–and with a few restraining orders–peace was finally restored.//
Chapter 9
I often wondered, what was Jessica so resentful about?
Was it that in her first life, she had a good education but felt the world had failed to recognize her talent?]
Was it that she had made a different choice this time, yet still ended up in the abyss?]
I didn’t believe I set her up.
I just opened the door. She was the one who walked all the way to the end.
