I couldn’t get out of the club fast enough. Pushing past the patrons who were trying to get into the building. I ignored the yelling, swearing and rude gestures thrown my way. I just needed to get out of there and get some damned air.
What the hell had just happened?
Alexander Kazumi was supposed to be in New York, almost eight hundred miles away.
Not here, in Chicago.

“Wow, you were right. He is bloody delicious,” Lucy swooned, bumping my shoulder with hers, as we finally made it out into the night air
I sucked in lungful after hangful of air, as I stepped to the side and leaned against the building.
I had chanced a look back at Alex, as we had walked out of the main part of the club and had found him watching after me. Those eyes.
They haunted my dreams.
Always staring at me with such a desire, I would wake up in a sheen of sweat and a throbbing pussy.
Even though I had promised myself I would forget the Kazumi’s; here I was, practically running from one of them and hiding from the other.
I lifted my head and looked at the door of the club, then to my friends, who were standing there, watching me. “Are you okay. Joey?” Noami asked and I nodded.

My stomach dropped to my feet, as I turned back to the club and watched as Alex pushed through the crowd and came toward us
“Oh this is going to be fun Heather giggled and the trio I was out with stepped back as Alex stepped up to me.
I blinked and looked at him

Even three weeks later, he made my heart flutter and my stomach flip.
“Hey.” He said, pushing his hand through his hair, a faint smile coming to his lips.

“Uh.” Alex turned and looked at the girls I was with, then behind him to the huge guy who seemed to be his shadow. “Guys,
can we have a minute?”
The big guy stepped back a few feet and seemed to go on sentinel duty. The girls I was with took a couple steps back, but I knew they’d still be able to hear them.
Alex turned back to her and smiled again. “look, I’m sorry for being a bit.. weird in there. I just didn’t think I’d see you. Not here I thought you were still in Miami
I shook my head. “There’s nothing there for me.”
And there wasn’t. I’d finally come to the realization, there hadn’t been anything there since my mom had died and dad left. “Fair enough” Alex replied, shoving his hands down into his pockets. “Look, about-”

There was no way in hell I was going to let har try to explain to me why he left me alone again, in the middle of the street, with my work friends standing so close. I wasn’t silly, I knew it would take one wrong move on my behalf to no longer be
the “it” girl, and the scandal of me sleeping with my best friend’s brother would do the rounds at the hospital.

That was the last thing I needed right now.
“Ok, look, I’m sorry about what happened, and how it closed out. Can- Alex smirked, lowering his eyes a little and looked up at me from under his silken hair. “Can I buy you a coffee?”

Alex chuckled and stepped closer, winking, “Oh, come on. It wasn’t so bad last time.”
“Go for the coffee, Joey! The trio behind me yelled out and I whipped my head around, staring at them as they started to
cackle and walk off
Lucy called out to me as they practically bounced down the road away from the club. “We’re going home! If you’re not at work tomorrow, we know why!”
I rolled my eyes and looked back to Alex, who was obviously waiting on my answer. He raised an eyebrow, and I looked past him to the other guy. “What about him?”
Alex looked back at him and smiled. “Sota? He’s harmless. He’ll wait in the car.
“Sota looked at me, before he looked at Alex and nodded. “Yes, Mr. Kazumi.”
Alex turned back to me and grinned. “See! So, how about it? Coffee?”
I inhaled and rolled my eyes.
Won’t you, Sota?”
I really shouldn’t. I needed to go and get some sleep. I had a shift the following day and I was exhausted from the one I had just finished but I also couldn’t justify walking away from Alex.
I thought I’d never see him again and here he was, asking me if I wanted a coffee…

Alex chuckled and turned, looking back to his friend. “Sota, we’re going for coffee.”
“Sir.” Sota nodded and he stepped closer, looking down at me.

We all turned and went to the blacked–out sedan, parked across the road Sota managed to slip his huge frame into the driver’s seat, and I slipped into the back with Alex
He was within arm’s length again and I had to resist the urge to reach out to touch him, to make sure wasn’t imagining it
he was real and I
Alex turned his head and smiled at me, as Sota drove away from the club and into the night, and 1 had a sneaking suspicion that before long. I’d end up in Alex’s bed again
