The next hour passed away in a blur.

since the night From the guards giving the princes cloaks to cover themselves which alerted me of their nakedness for the first time s started, to bring led to the fanciest car I’ve ever seen, to stopping in the palace and being led through high walls and shiny floors, to finally being in the presence of the Alpha King and Luna Queen.

It’s been a couple of minutes since I’ve been in their presence and I haven’t been breathing. They looked larger than life on the throne chairs and the powerful aura they radiated made me feel like I was nothing in the presence. There was another woman in the room, sitting on the floor with beads of cowries on her ankles and on her wrists. The eerie vibe hovering around her was too powerful to miss.

I tried to keep my eyes on the floor, to fade into myself so they’d forget about my existence but then, I found myself looking up again and looking at Luna Amber. She was looking at me. That was why my sixth sense forced me to look up. She was looking at me like one would observe a specimen, as if trying to see all of my components and figure out what the fuss about me was all about.

Why a common human like me was mated to her three sons?

Then she smiled in a way that cracked her face open and lit her whole face. Even before she spoke, I already felt at ease.

“Relax, child, we’re not going to bite you and as it appears, you’re part of us now.”

Noooo. I wanted to scream that this was a mistake or a miscalculation, that there was no way I was actually mated to any of them. I wanted to return back to the hostel, to the sanctuary of my room. Funny how I’ve always hated that room because of Dior but now, I’d feel Dior’s overbearing attitude over this nightmare.

In fact, I’d kill to walk into my room and see Dior trashing my stuff right now.

“So, have you figured that she’s a fraud?”

Adam’s voice alerted us of their arrival. The brothers walked into the room, now fully dressed and they took their seats on the sofa.

“She is not a fraud. That was the witch on the floor. She was staring right straight at me in a way that made the hairs on my body stand

I just wanted to leave here.

“Well, she has to be,” Adam continued, the disdain in his voice as clear as day, “there’s no way we are mated to her.

“I’m afraid she is not, my prince. She’s your mate, just like she’s your brothers‘ mate. She carries a powerful and unprecedented aura. one that even royal she–wolves do not possess. That why was she was able to walk in the Forest of Astral, why the sacred full moon that hasn’t been seen in centuries came out to lead her to you. She’s your mate, the royal Luna Princess.”

She proclaimed what felt like a death sentence to me. The longer I spent in this room, the longer became out of touch with reality.

Everything she said couldn’t possibly be true about me. I carry no powerful aura. All I carry were years of pain and suffering and hunger

“Well, that’s some bullshit and you have to fix..”

“Language Adam. The Alpha King spoke up in a quiet voice but one that still earried enough weight and drowned every other thing in the room, “you’ll speak to Circe with respect”

Adam bowed in apologies but there was nothing remorseful in his expression. His palms were balled into fists and from the blinding rage in his eyes, he looked like he could kill both Circe and I just to get out of this forbidden bond.

“What if we don’t want the bond?” Carlton asked, “can we reject her!”

“No. Alpha Princes do not have the liberty to reject their mates and definitely not this special one. The moon goddess makes no mistake and if she has mated this human girl to you and made you find her on a random night, then she’s the one for you three. Failure to mark and claim her would resort into severe consequences not for you alone but for the whole pack. That’s going against a direct command from the Moon Goddess and there would be severe repercussions.”

“I don’t want this,” all the heads in the room turned to me and that was when I realised that I was the one that spoke, “I don’t want to be mated to them, I just want to return back to school.”

“The moon goddess made it so.

Circe only smiled at me.

“So you’re saying that there’s no way out of this bond?” Carlton asked again. He darted a quick look at Adam who instead of looking angry, looked beaten up, like he just heard the worst proclamation in his life, there must be a way out”

“The only way out is death” she exclaimed and for a brief second, her eyes turned completely white and the cowry beads adorning her wrists and ankles shook even though was sitting very still.

Unless she dies, then you’re bound to her for life.”

“That’s enough,” Luna Amber rose to her feet, “Circe is dismissed.”

Circe rose too, bowed and walked out of the room with her beads of cowries not making a single sound.

The Alpha King left the room too with the princes on their feet as he walked out while I struggled to stand from where I sat.

*L. I need to return back to school,” I spoke to no one in particular but I just felt the need to make the announcement before leaving.

Only Luna Amber smiled at my words. She walked up to me, her black robe flowing behind her.

“You’re part of us now, child and the palace is now your home. You’ll be shown into your room by your assigned maid who will help you adapt well in the coming days.”

I opened my mouth to refute that but she already turned on her back and left. I was with the quiet princes for less than a minute that felt like decades when a maid walked into the room, curtseyed to the princes who ignored her and ushered me out of the room.

“Leave us,” we’ve hardly taken ten steps outside the room when that voice came from behind us. It was Adam who was now upon us. The maid scurried away, leaving me with a heart beating frantically out of fear of Adam.

What was he going to do now!

“I’m sorry,” came his somber tone and it knocked the breath out of me.

Wait what?

“Im really sorry for how I treated you in school, for giving the kids the greenlight to bully you. I know this is you getting back at me but please, you have to undo this,” he moved closer so he was crowding me against the wall.

“Please, this is worse than a death sentence to me. It’s killing me,” he did sound like it was killing him. His face was that of pure anguish, His eyes were filled up and his whole body was trembling. Whatever the pain was, it wasn’t simply an emotional one.

“It is killing me. I can’t be mated to a human, I can’t look at a human and see her as my mate. That’s a horrible sentence for me. Please. undo this, whatever black magic you’ve cast to bind us to you. Pleaseee!

He choked and despite myself, I felt for him. I felt his anguish and pain, I felt his misery and my own eyes clouded up too.

“I didn’t do anything.”

“I have to apologize to you in front of the whole school, I’ll do it just please, undo this thing. Get me out of this shackle!”

“I don’t know how to. I didn’t do anything?”

He exhaled loudly before burying his face in his hands. When he raised his head, I could see the madness taking shape on his face again. I instantly recoileil.
