Chapter 15
Gwen chuckled softly.
It was great, everyone was present.
The gift she prepared was just what everyone needed.
At eleven o’clock, the “wedding” officially began.
Reynald stood alone on the stage, his hand placed over his heart never letting go, as if he was truly making up for Gabriella’s missed wedding.
“Are you willing to marry Miss Gabriella and be faithful to her for the rest of your life, until death do you part?”
“I was willing.
He lowered his gaze, feeling the frequency of his heartbeats, and then. said for Gabriella, “I do.”
During the ring exchange, Gabriella’s ring hung over his heart, and he solemnly put on his own ring.
The wedding should have a set process, with every detail carefully planned.
The guests recovered their energy and began to whisper to each other.
“Her father was a murderer, and he also killed her mother. Such a person is meaningless to live, it would be better to be reborn into a better life sooner.”
“I heard that Mr. Dalloz had heart problems too, so it was only right for her to donate her heart to Mr. Dalloz.”
Chapter 15
“Yes, yes, I heard that this person is very mysterious, after all, her father
killed someone…”
Gwen gripped the armrest, her knuckles turning white.
A well–meaning person asked Agnes, “Gabriella was only 25 years old, so young and gone so soon, don’t you think it’s a pity?”
Agnes looked at the only photo of Gabriella, her eyes showing a moment of complexity, but still said, “She had a bad background, and now she’s dead. Donating her heart, we can consider it her final good deed.”
Gwen’s heart ached.
These people, who were supposed to be Gabriella’s closest family, should have protected her the most, but in the end, they turned into knives. stabbing her instead.
Gwen’s gaze swept over the crowd, not a hint of pity or sympathy to be seen. It was as if Gabriella’s death was truly deserved.
Gwen suddenly stood up, catching everyone’s attention.
She looked at Reynald, “Since it’s a wedding, shouldn’t there be a maid of honor speech?”
Reynald nodded and stepped aside. Gwen walked up to the crowd and asked the staff to help project the photos from her phone onto the big
scree screen.
Suddenly, the whole scene was in an uproar.
The first photo shows Gabriella, 3 years old, crying and wailing as she is being stepped on.
Gabriella, 5 years old, was kicked down the stairs.
At the age of 8, he was tied up in the pigsty, covered in blood.
Chapter 15
“Gabriella knew that her mother had been kidnapped. She tried to escape and report it to the police, but she was caught and brought back. This was the first time she had her leg broken.”
At the age of 9, she was hit on the head by a stone, blood smearing her face.
“This was the second time.”
Then, the third time, the fourth time…
Until the age of 15, that thin and weak child had been desperately trying to save her mother.
“The last time, she successfully called the police. Just a little bit more, and she could have saved her mother.”
The Hensley family was stunned. They had never known that they would finally find out the whereabouts of Gabriella’s mother, Carissa Hensley, because of Gabriella.
“The first time I met Gabriella was at the train station, where three people suddenly appeared and grabbed me. They claimed to be my parents and older brother, wanting to take me back home. The most desperate moment for me was when Gabriella rushed over, otherwise I wouldn’t be standing here now.”
“Gabriella donated all of her organs. Her corneas restored sight to three people, her kidneys, liver, and pancreas saved three critically ill patients, and her heart… She gave new life to seven people.”
Gwen laughed and then her gaze finally landed on Agnes.
“You all kept saying she deserved to die, that she got what she deserved, I just want to ask one thing..
“What did my best friend Gabriella do wrong?”
