Chapter 11
Gwen took the death certificate first. “I am her family,” she said.
Reynald looked at her, the light paper and the wrist guard in her hand weighing him down and making it hard for him to breathe.
“Is there anything else, Mr. Dalloz?” Gwen asked, her face expressionless.
He inexplicably didn’t even dare to ask.
The phone rang, it was Vanessa calling.
She cried and complained, “Rey, I just called Gabriella and asked her to come and see you, but she refused and spoke very harshly. How could she be so heartless, saying that you shouldn’t be alive.”
Reynald’s expression darkened, but in his heart, he inexplicably breathed a sigh of relief.
Gwen watched him leave in silence.
The nurse exclaimed angrily, “Dr. Loretta, why don’t you throw the death certificate in Reynald’s face? Ms. Hensley is already dead and doesn’t deserve this kind of slander!”
Gwen rubbed her fingertips over the death certificate, feeling a pang in her heart at the sight of Gabriella’s name.
“He still cannot be stimulated now, let’s wait for him to be discharged first.”
Reynald’s life or death didn’t matter to her, but she wanted to ensure that Gabriella’s heart would continue to beat steadily and strongly.
Chapter 11
So, she waited for another half a month.
Before this, she had scattered Gabriella’s ashes into the sea according to her wishes.
In the hospital ward.
Vanessa tearfully recounted Gabriella’s cold–blooded cruelty, while Reynald stared blankly at Gabriella’s chat window, ignoring her completely.
The last message he sent was: “I still have half a month before I’m discharged, so you can still enjoy the last few days.”
Still, no one responded.”
Reynald’s heart sank heavily. In the past, Gabriella would have already called him back and scolded him. She never liked to be taken advantage of
Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through his heart, and he tightly pressed his chest.
He uncontrollably thought of Gwen’s familiar bracelet, and then his mind. was filled with Gabriella.
“Rey, what’s wrong with you? Don’t scare me!”
Vanessa was spinning in a hurry to go press the call button, but Reynald grabbed her hand.
He stared at her eyes intently. “What did you just say Gabriella told you?”
Vanessa was stared at, her hair standing on end. “She… she said, sending you back to the West is still possible, let her take care of you, in her dreams.”
Chapter 11
Reynald let go of his hand and smiled.
Indeed, it was something Gabriella would say, she wouldn’t let him off easy either.
The two of them should have entangled each other and tormented each other for a lifetime.
During his hospital stay, Reynald was never able to reach Gabriella, so he asked Vanessa to call and provoke her.
The phone call Vanessa made in front of him went unanswered, but he was not present, so Gabriella was able to scold Vanessa mercilessly.
There were so many unreasonable things, but Reynald never even asked for the reasons.
He don’t know if it was that he didn’t want to, or that he didn’t dare.
Half a month later, Reynald was discharged from the hospital. Betty originally wanted to take him back for recuperation, but he flatly refused.
A group of people could only escort Reynald back home.
The door was pushed open, and the dust in the air rolled up, indicating that no one had lived there for some time.
Reynald stood still. “where was Gabriella?”
“Oh my God, how is there blood?” Vanessa exclaimed.
Reynald turned his head, the speckled, long–dried dark red bloodstains on the white marble stinging his eyes.
“Where is Gabriella?” Betty’s face looked very bad. “Is there anyone who treats their wife like this? You were in the hospital for so long, she didn’t care at all. When you were discharged, she disappeared without a word, and made the house so gloomy…”
Chapter 11
Reynald’s heart was pounding crazily as he walked along the trail of blood.
“Rey…” Vanessa had just started to step forward.
“Get lost.”
Reynald’s feet felt like lead as he moved forward, with more and more bloodstains leading all the way to the bathroom door.
“Gabriella, playing tricks on me doesn’t work.”
The door was pushed open, and what came rushing towards me was a strong smell of blood.
The moment he saw clearly, Reynald felt as if he had fallen into an ice
cave.
