Chapter 9:
Before he could approach, Adrian was shoved to the ground by the guards.
Tears filled my eyes as I cried out,
“Dad!”
My father rushed over to help me up.
“My precious daughter, are you hurt?”
Adrian froze mid–step, shock rippling across his face.
Chloe’s obedient smile vanished in an instant.
Adrian stared at me in disbelief.
“What do you mean… You’re Mr. Green’s daughter?”
I met his gaze coldly.”
“When you said New York City’s richest man, Mr. Green–who did you think it was?”
Realization dawned on them both.8
Adrian’s smile twisted painfully.
“Sophia… why didn’t you say so earlier? This was all a misunderstanding.“8
“Misunderstanding?” My father’s eyes sharpened.
“The injuries on her face are a misunderstanding? Dragging her by the wrist was a misunderstanding? Forcing her to kneel was a misunderstanding?”
“Fine. Then your company’s bankruptcy tomorrow will be a misunderstanding too.”
Panic flashed in Adrian’s eyes. He turned desperately to me.
“Sophia, explain to him–we were just fooling around. I’m your boyfriend!”
I smirked.X
“Boyfriend? I wouldn’t dare climb that high. As far as I’m concerned, we ended things long ago.”
“I didn’t agree to that! So I gave Chloe a couple of gifts, I’ll make it up to you-“I
I shoved Chloe’s incriminating video in his face. He froze, glaring murderously at her.
He shoved her to the ground at my feet.
“It was all this bitch’s fault! She played poor, pretended to be pitiful just to seduce me for resources. Other than that one time, there was nothing-”
I played another clip–the Award Ceremony recording, where he rigged the raffle to pay off Chloe’s father’s gambling debt. “You… how did you know? It’s not like that-”
Before he could finish, t’played the video of him visiting Chloe’s film set, the trailer shaking violently inside.
His face drained of all color.
Finally, his pride shattered, Adrian dropped to his knees, clutching the hem of my gown.
“I was confused. She seduced me–it’s you I love. I was wrong. Please, give me another chance.”
I pulled my gown away.
“You’re not sorry–you’re just scared. This is only the beginning ”
Adrian turned on Chloe immediately, striking her hard across the face.
“If it weren’t for you, Sophia wouldn’t treat me this way! Get on your knees and beg her forgiveness!“}
Chloe was stunned, then screamed back at him. W
“Now you blame me? Weren’t you the one who said I was younger and fresher than her? Why don’t you say that in front of her now?“X
“You promised me I’d take Sophia’s place. That’s the only reason I agreed to you!“}
Around us, people stared as the two tore into each other.X
Then the police arrived, taking away the group of Chloe’s fans who had attacked me, along with Chloe and Adrian, still hurling accusations at each other.”
As for me, I entered the ballroom. Under the watchful eyes of industry leaders, I formally took over Green Enterprises.
My first act was to direct fire at Rose Pictures.
The results exceeded expectations.
Without me, Rose Pictures lost its golden goose. With Adrian detained at the police station, I had a perfect opening.!!

Rose Pictures, without me, was nothing.
Everyone willing to follow me was absorbed into Green Enterprises‘ entertainment division.
By the time Adrian was released, his company was nothing but an empty shell.
That day, Adrian Carter and Chloe Miller had both been led away by police–still blaming each other every step of the way.
