A familiar voice came from the doorway.
Scarlett walked in, a concerned expression on her face.
“I heard you, so I…”
“Get out.” Rocco shot to his feet, his eyes blazing. “This is all your fault.”
“Rocco, what are you talking about?” Scarlett feigned innocence. “Caterina is just angry. She’ll be back soon.”
“Angry?” Rocco sneered. “She took everything! She left a farewell note!”
He threw the card at Scarlett’s face.
“This is her goodbye! She’s never coming back!”

Scarlett looked at the card, a flicker of triumph in her eyes before she masked it.
“So what?” she said, walking toward him. “Rocco, you still have me.”
“You think I chose you over her?” Rocco looked at her with pure disgust. “You were never the choice, Scarlett. You were just the consolation prize.”
The color drained from Scarlett’s face.
“But Rocco, we grew up together. We have so many wonderful memories…”
“Enough!” Rocco shoved her away. “I said, you were a placeholder.”
He stormed into the bedroom and began throwing things into a suitcase.
“I’m going to get my Luna back.”
Scarlett followed him, watching as he frantically threw clothes into the bag.
“Where are you going?” she asked tentatively.
“The Silver Moon Pack,” Rocco said without looking back. “Clara said Caterina went back to her pack.”
He remembered what Clara had said that afternoon, and a wave of panic washed over him.
No, it couldn’t be true.
Caterina couldn’t really be bonding with another Alpha.
She was just trying to scare him, to make him regret everything.
If he could just get to the Silver Moon Pack, apologize, grovel… Caterina would have to forgive him.
“You’re going to another territory?” Scarlett’s voice sounded from behind him, laced with a tremor of hope. “I’ll go with you.”
