By then, my flight had already landed in sunny Seattle.
“Caterina.”
A deep male voice called my name at the airport exit.
I turned, pulling my suitcase behind me, and saw a tall figure.
He wore a black trench coat that accentuated a sharp jawline and the strong bridge of his nose. He radiated an Alpha aura so powerful it was almost suffocating.
This was Damon.
The Alpha I was betrothed to.
“Alpha Damon,” I said, nodding respectfully.
“Just Damon,” he corrected, his voice gentle as he took my suitcase. “It was a long journey. You must be tired.”
His tone wasn’t what I had imagined.
The car was a discreet black SUV, its interior luxurious but understated.
“It’s about a two–hour drive from here,” Damon said as he started the engine. “You can rest if you’re tired.”
I nodded and leaned back against the plush leather seat.
The aftershocks of severing the bond were still lingering, leaving me more exhausted than I had ever been.
