Chapter 4
At Luciana’s house, Marvin sat nervously, waiting for her to wake up.
Out of nowhere, a tight feeling suddenly gripped his chest, like something precious had suddenly left him.
He didn’t know why. His thoughts wandered to another woman, Eleanor Surrett.
She never slept as soundly as Luciana. Even the slightest noise would
wake her.
But ever since they were together, he hadn’t had trouble sleeping at all.
Maybe it was her presence that comforted him so deeply, or maybe…
While lost in thought, he noticed Luciana slowly open her eyes.
She said softly, “Marvin, I’m so glad you’re here.
“I don’t want to marry anyone else, but my family keeps pushing me. You know how I really feel about you…
But Marvin only looked at her without any emotion. Then he stood up and said, “Now that you’re awake, you should get more rest.”
Luciana quickly held his hand and pressed it to her chest. “Marvin, I have a feeling Eleanor secretly did something to me to make me sick.”
He didn’t seem bothered. “You’re just overthinking it. She’s not that kind of person. She barely even leaves the house. How would she have the chance to hurt you?”

Luciana hadn’t expected him to defend me, and her smile faded,
Later, when Marvin arrived at home, he saw only ruins.
Ronan stood frozen in front of him, barely daring to breathe. His voice trembled slightly as he spoke,
Mr. Berman, the attic suddenly caught
fire…
“Ms. Eleanor, she…”
Marvin stood frozen, unable to believe what he was hearing. His ears were ringing, and he couldn’t process the words.
After a long pause, he finally managed to speak in a hoarse voice, “What are you talking about? Is this one of her schemes? Did Eleanor plan this with you to fool me?”
Ronan shook his head, his eyes red and watery. “Mr. Berman, just take a look over there. Ms. Eleanor… We’ve already found her body.”
What lay there was a body barely recognizable, pieced together from scattered remains, blown apart by the explosion.
Anyone could imagine how much pain she must have suffered before dying.
Marvin closed his eyes tightly, not wanting to believe what was in front
of him.
It felt like someone had ripped open his chest, and no matter what, the bleeding wouldn’t stop.
He thought to himself, “Eleanor… Did she really die, just like that?”
He refused to accept it.
His face darkened as he stared at the others. “Find out what caused the

fire. I don’t care how long it takes. Don’t stop until you find out the cause!”
Everyone scattered at once, scrambling to obey. No one dared to speak against him.
Marvin knelt beside the body, gently brushing away some of the ash from the body’s face. But the gentle, stubborn face he remembered was gone.
What was left was nothing but a face destroyed beyond recognition.
His hand froze midair–then suddenly, he gathered the shattered body parts into his arms.
He let out a low, strange laugh, sounding almost insane.
“Did you really think you could stay away from me for good?
“The moment you walked into my house, you became mine, Eleanor!
“Whether you’re alive or dead, you’ll never get away from me!”
Marvin carefully gathered the shattered body parts, but he refused to bury them. Instead, he placed the remains in a golden coffin that cost a fortune.
He even hired the most well–known Abbot in Austin to light a thousand candles for me at the monastery.
He still refused to accept the truth that I was really dead until Ronan told. him, “Mr. Berman, we found some proof. Ms. Eleanor bought explosives from the black market herself.
“She gave up on living three months ago.”
Marvin was stunned, unable to take it in. He muttered to himself in disbelief, “How could someone so timid have the guts to end her own life?

Chapter 4
“Is she mad at me because I treat her sister better than I treat her? How
childish can she be?
“She threw her own life just because she was upset!”
He stayed at the table for hours, unmoving–until night came and he finally snapped out of it.
Now he’s determined to come look for me himself!
The moment he stepped outside, he bumped into Luciana, who had come to find him.
“Marvin, now that Eleanor is gone, you should stop being sad and cherish the person beside you.”
Her gaze was flirtatious, her tone full of hints.
She leaned softly toward Marvin, almost like she had no strength in her body.
She continued, “If your body needs comfort, I’ll take care of that for you from now on.
