Chapter 22
Back in the living room.
The maid was already heating up the food.
Gerhart took all the clothes she bought upstairs, and Latrina followed him with the flowers.
Looking at his broad shoulders and narrow waist from behind, her face went hot again and again.
Gotta say, his body was pretty much perfect. He had perfect abs, though she couldn’t remember how many, just a lot. They felt great–smooth
and firm….
Latrina held her forehead, trying hard not to remember what happened that day.
Back in the room, Gerhart actually helped her put all her clothes away in the closet, including her underwear…
When Latrina set the tulips in the study vase that had never held flowers before, it suddenly hit her: she’d bought new underwear.
She hurried back to the cloakroom and found he had already finished tidying everything up.
Are you hungry?” Gerhart walked toward her.
“A little.” She quickly turned and walked out of the closet.
‘Change that bad habit of not eating on time.”

“Oh.” She couldn’t help but laugh to herself and walked toward the first floor.
Went downstairs, the maid had already brought out the food.
Latrina walked to the kitchen and washed her hands.
الله
“Sir was really nice to you, he waited outside for you the whole time and didn’t eat a single bite.” The maid whispered quietly in Latrina’s ear.
Latrina wiped her hands and locked over at Gerhart.
He was on the phone nearby, pacing around absentmindedly, and his eyes just met Latrina’s.
The two of them quickly looked away.
“Did you drink your milk today?” Gerhart gave her several pieces of meat.
“Yeah, thanks.”
So official, didn’t feel like a couple at all, it was like doing a quest in a game just to level up.
“Turned off the alarm tonight, didn’t need to get up that early, went out around 10:30 tomorrow night.” Gerhart.
“?” Latrina wondered what he meant by that:“You’re going too?“.
“You didn’t look at the schedule?” Gerhart raised his eyelids, his eyes dark. That look scared Latrina so much she flinched.
“Sorry, Mr. Crowley…” She got so nervous that she started to stumble over her words.
If this happened at the company, who knows how badly she’d get yelled at.
“It’s fine, you don’t need to look either, just follow me when the time comes.”
Gerhart finished the bite in his mouth and seemed to be thinking about something.
Latrina let out a sigh, felt like she just got off work, then got home and had to work again.
Wouldn’t that leave him with a bad impression?
Gerhart put down his knife and fork, suddenly remembered something, and said, “Eduardo is still in the hospital, but the police got someone to cover it up, so there’s no record.”

When Latrina heard it, her scalp tingled, and her knuckles turned white as she gripped the fork.
The fact that Eduardo could get out probably meant there was some big power behind him.
“Did you piss someone off?” Gerhart’s eyes were cold and sharp.
Latrina didn’t dare look at him. A few days ago, she wanted to talk about it, but Gerhart didn’t give her a chance, so she didn’t say anything. Since he asked today, Latrina didn’t hide anything and told the whole story just as it happened.
Gerhart smiled.
So rare, he was actually smiling in this situation.
“What are you laughing at?” Latrina asked suspiciously.
He licked his lower lip.“Pulling this off–killing two birds with one stone, letting someone else do the dirty work–I’ve got to admit, I didn’t see that coming.
Gerhart had thought she was all talk, but her defenses were sharper than he ever imagined.
flicker of admiration stirred in him, and for a moment, he felt a sense of triumph.”
“Really…” Latrina was startled, she thought he would be mad, mad that she caused him trouble. “You didn’t think I…”
“You did a great job, but if something like this happens next time, remember to tell me. Don’t act rashly.”
Gerhart reached out and wiped the breadcrumbs off the corner of her mouth.
She thought, “Did he mean: If you need anything, just tell me, I’ve got your back?”
Latrina stayed where she was, feeling like the corner of her mouth he touched was burning. Her heart was racing so fast it made her breath quicken and her cheeks turn red.
Suddenly she felt Gerhart was so gentle, her mind went blank.
“I’ll go take a shower first.” Gerhart patted her head and left the table.
He was touching her head…
Latrina was totally stunned and just stood there, her eyes following him as he left, until he walked into the room.
She let out a long sigh of relief, pinched her own cheek, not dreaming.
No one had ever told her: Don’t be afraid, I’m here.
But just now, that’s exactly what Gerhart meant.
She absentmindedly ate her food, thinking about what he just said, and her face kept turning red.
After taking a shower, Gerhart was at the desk in the study working on some files.
Latrina was sitting on the small sofa in the study working overtime on her drawings.
But she couldn’t think of anything, all she had in her mind were those little things Gerhart did to her…
She felt annoyed, tossed the computer aside, and flopped onto the couch.
Gerhart glanced at her and saw her perfect figure outlined in the silk loungewear, and his Adam’s apple bobbed.
Suddenly thought she was really cute.
Soon Latrina sat up, put down the drawing board, and quietly looked something up on the computer. “Gerhart.” She tilted her head and looked at him.
“Huh?”
“Last time we moved, where did I put that box of manuscripts?”

She vaguely remembered that some things were sorted out for her by Gerhart.
He slowly got up, walked to the display shelf by the book wall, and took out a big box.
“Is this what you were talking about?”
“Yeah, that’s it.” Latrina knelt on the couch and reached out to take the box, like it was a treasure.
“You didn’t prepare the manuscript either, did you?” Gerhart saw through her little scheme.
“Hehe…” Latrina sat on the couch, holding the box and opening it with a cheerful but slightly apologetic smile.
“It’s okay, I still had a lot of drafts.”
But Gerhart didn’t go back to his desk, he sat down next to her instead, with one arm resting on the back of the sofa behind her.
Latrina got nervous all of a sudden, her nerves tense.
What did he want to do? Yeah, he wanted a kiss, or maybe…
She glanced at him carefully, “You…”
Let me take a look.” He was pretty natural.
“Oh.”
Latrina’s hands were shaking. It was so late at night, and he was standing so close that she could even feel his breath.
She could feel the sandalwood scent from Gerhart slowly spreading onto her.
She didn’t prepare a script, so she could only use some old ones from previous years to see if any would work.
She flipped through them one by one, and Gerhart’s expression changed as she did.

Gerhart picked up a sketch and studied it carefully. It seemed familiar, but he couldn’t place where he had seen it before.
Latrina hurried over and stuffed it back in the box, afraid he’d notice something.
“I’ll show you after I pick one, you go work first…” She hurriedly moved to the side.
Gerhart chuckled and sat back down at the computer desk.

He glanced at the tulips on the table, reached out with his bony fingers to touch them, the corners of his mouth lifting a little, then went back to
