At noon, everyone headed to the cafeteria for lunch.
Latrina called Kelvin, hoping to meet Gerhart. Kelvin let her into the elevator, and she went straight to the CEO’s office.
“What’s up?” Gerhart glanced at the computer, still expressionless, but today he looked more confident in his white shirt and vest.
Latrina wondered if it was the shirt she had ordered for him.
She walked over and placed a bag on his desk.“Here are your clothes. Thanks.”
Gerhart looked at the bag and then at her.“Not feeling well?” he asked.
“Yes…” After their talk yesterday, she felt it was unnecessary to discuss personal matters.“If there’s nothing else, Mr. Crowley, I’ll leave,” she quickly said.
“Okay,” he replied.
She felt dizzy and nauseous, so she took the afternoon off and went to the hospital.
The waiting line was long, and she dozed off, only waking up groggily when her name was called.
After briefly explaining her situation, the doctor started asking questions.
“Name.”
“Latrina.”
“Age.”

She sighed deeply, trying to relax, but the more she tried, the more nervous she got.
She considered texting Gerhart, but he had blocked her. If she called him, he might not even pick up.
This made her even more anxious.

Just then, she saw a familiar figure approaching.
Sonya, who was less than three months pregnant but already showing a bit, walked with an older maid carrying her stuff. *Latrina, are you here for a checkup too?” Sonya asked sarcastically, eyeing the pregnancy test slip in Latrina’s hand.
Her eyes were lifeless, and her dark eye circles made her look completely different from the stunning girl she used to be.

“Sonya.” Latrina folded the form and hid it behind her back.
“Nice move!” Sonya gritted her teeth, wishing she could tear Latrina apart.
“Why are you mad?” Latrina asked.
She knew what Sonya meant and felt happy inside, but seeing Sonya’s lost look, Latrina also felt sorry for her.
What Latrina had lost was a jerk, but what Sonya had lost was a husband and the father of her child.

Latrina’s face was burning. The hospital felt like it had frozen, and the only sound was the broadcast calling her name over and over.

The form was snatched back. Latrina thought she was going to get hit again, but to her surprise, a big hand stopped Sonya’s raised hand in midair.
