After the surgery, Rachel stayed in the hospital for a few days before being discharged, and her voice returned to normal.
By a twist of fate, she joined a band, where there was a girl named Cecelia Platt who loved to stick close to her and was also the one who brought her into the group.
Because of her experience, they soon landed a small gig at a bar.
Standing on stage again after a year, Rachel felt as if she had finally found herself once more, and she smiled much more often.
After the performance, she was still a bit lost in the atmosphere. As she walked backstage, she suddenly heard Cecelia shouting nearby: “Bro?! What are you doing here? You never come to my shows!”
Rachel was focused on the ground, not looking up, until she heard a familiar voice: “Relax, I’m not here to see you.”
She was taken aback and looked up to see Jonathan standing in the corridor with one hand in his pocket. After saying this, his charming eyes shifted to Rachel, who was standing nearby.
“I’m here to see how my patient is recovering,” he said with a faint smile at the corner of his lips.
Following his gaze, Cecelia looked at the person beside her. “You two know each other!”
Rachel hadn’t expected Cecelia to be Jonathan’s sister. Because of this connection, Cecelia often invited her to meals, and Jonathan would join.

them. Over time, they became more familiar with cach other.
Half a year later, Rachel and the band participated in a competition and ended up winning first place. The prize was a pendant.
She wanted to give it to Jonathan, since it was thanks to him that she was able to return to the stage.
But when she walked up to him, she hesitated, remembering Benjamin’s reaction in the past, and couldn’t bring herself to speak.
Jonathan glanced at her, took the pendant from her hand, and held it up to look at it. “Is this for me?”
Rachel nodded. He smiled and immediately attached it to his phone. “It’s settled then, you can’t take it back.”
Seeing how much he genuinely liked it, she felt a sense of relief in her heart. Something unwanted by one person could be treasured by another.
That evening, Jonathan said he would treat everyone to dinner. No one in the band refused, and they all said, “Thank you, Jonathan!”
A large group of them walked out together. Rachel was talking to Cecelia, and when she looked up unintentionally, she saw Benjamin standing just a meter away at the entrance.
She froze on the spot, not expecting to see him again.
Amidst the surrounding noise, they looked at each other. Benjamin’s eyes were full of excitement and glistening with tears. Ever since he had missed her last time, he hadn’t been able to find any trace of her.
It wasn’t until recently, when Rachel’s band gained some fame, that he finally got news of her again and rushed over without delay.

Rachel, still frozen in place, was wondering why he had come. She couldn’t think of a reason and just assumed it was a coincidence.
Cecelia noticed and asked in confusion, “Rach, do you know him?”
She snapped out of it and shook her head. “No, I don’t.”
Then she followed the others outside. As the group brushed past Benjamin, he called out in a daze, “Rachel…”
Rachel paused for a moment, then walked straight away.
Benjamin stood where he was, not daring to go after her, and could only watch as she walked farther and farther away.
Over the past year, he had imagined countless times what it would be like to see her again. But now that it was really happening, he was afraid- afraid she would hate him, or treat him as if he were invisible.
But seeing that her voice had recovered and that the injury he caused had left no trace, the despair in his heart seemed to lessen a little.
