Rachel had no idea how he managed to find her, but she had no intention. of meeting him now. So she called the hotel from outside, asked them to check her out, and requested that her luggage be brought out to her.
After retrieving her luggage, she went straight to the airport and changed her ticket to the earliest available flight out of there.
Meanwhile, Benjamin was still waiting downstairs, waiting for his assistant to send him the confirmed room number. As soon as he got it, he rushed upstairs, only to find the room empty.
The clue they had been searching for, sleeplessly, for two months had slipped away again. Benjamin stood there in despair, at the closest place he had been to Rachel in two months.
Rachel arrived at the airport the next morning. This time, instead of staying at a hotel, she found a place to rest for a bit before heading to the address on the business card to find the doctor.
It was a private hospital with a pleasant environment. She went in with. the business card, skipped the registration process, and was taken directly to Jonathan’s office.
The nurse asked her to sit on the sofa: “Dr. Platt is making his rounds. Please wait here for a moment.”
Rachel nodded and glanced around. It was a large yet simple office. As she was lost in her observations, a magnetic voice sounded.
“I don’t remember having any patients this afternoon?”

She turned around to see a tall man walk in, pulling a pen from the pocket. of his white coat as he spoke. His alluring eyes briefly landed on her.
Just then, the nurse who had come to bring Rachel some water said, “This lady came with a business card. You said yourself that the card is a pass, so I brought her straight in.”
Only then did Jonathan remember: “Oh, right. Thanks a lot.”
The nurse waved her hand and left, closing the door behind her. For a moment, only the two of them were left in the room.
Rachel found herself staring at his face, entranced. He was truly handsome, but in a different way from Benjamin–he was beautiful.
Jonathan sat down behind his desk, noticed her dazed expression, and squinted slightly, teasing, “You’re about to stare a hole through me.”
She snapped back to reality, her cheeks flushing as she walked over to sit across from him. She took out the business card and placed it on the desk. “Dr. Lozano sent me. My throat injury is quite serious.”
Jonathan dropped his playful tone and began to examine her seriously.
After reviewing the scans, he said exactly what Zachary had: “Your vocal cords were damaged after being cut open…”
As he spoke, he looked at Rachel, his expression unreadable.
She kept her head down, avoiding his gaze and remaining silent. Jonathan didn’t press further and soon developed a treatment plan for her.
Rachel looked at the plan, her eyes widening slightly. “Can it be cured?”
Jonathan leaned forward over the desk, pointing at the precautions listed on the plan with his index finger. “That depends on whether you follow

the instructions carefully. Otherwise, I can’t make any promises.”
A crisp scent of pine washed over her, making her a little dizzy. “I will follow them,” she replied.
What followed was more than half a year of treatment. She went to the hospital on schedule, and gradually, her throat improved significantly. Grateful, she bought a gift to give to Jonathan.
But when he saw the gift in front of him, he pushed it back with one hand. “If it’s out of gratitude, there’s no need. Our hospital doesn’t accept gifts. But if you want to give it for another reason, why not make it for something else, like my birthday?”
Rachel was a little confused by his words, but she understood that he wouldn’t accept it today.
The final stage of treatment was a surgery. Because of her fear from the previous operation, she started feeling anxious the day before.
Lying on the operating table, she was even more nervous, her face pale and her whole body trembling slightly.
Jonathan, wearing a mask that revealed only his beautiful eyes, leaned over her, his gaze full of gentleness. “Don’t bè nervous. I won’t let anything happen to you. Although every surgery has risks, with me, it’s a one hundred percent success rate.”
Gradually, she began to relax.
