A full 999 roses, so large they nearly covered half my body.
‘Do you like them?”
‘Grace mentioned the other day that you love red roses. These were flown in from France this
morning.”
Looking at the dew on the roses, my eyes grew moist.
‘I love them.”
Phoenix tenderly stroked my hair and took my hand, standing in front of Garrett.
“Uncle?”
Garrett looked at the man before him in disbelief, his heart sinking to the bottom.
He never would have imagined that the person I married was Phoenix.
“Aria, you changed the arranged marriage partner behind my back?”
“Don’t you know he’s been married before? You’re choosing this used goods over a pristine catch like
me?”
Perhaps in his rage, Garrett’s words became increasingly ugly.
Phoenix wasn’t bothered at all, just watching him lose his mind.
Until the Montgomery family elders arrived one by one, and Garrett’s mother Helena rushed over.
‘Garrett, what are you babbling about!”
She covered Garrett’s mouth with her hand, signaling him to behave better.
Helena came forward and took my hand. “Dear child, I know you’ve been wronged.”
“I’ve been abroad this whole time and really couldn’t spare the time to manage Garrett.”

“I think Garrett knows he was wrong now–don’t hold it against him. Using marriage as a bargaining chip to gamble your future isn’t worth it!”
When my mother was alive, Helena and I were close.
After my mother passed, she treated me like her own daughter.
I knew she wanted me to marry Garrett so he could become the heir–saying she liked me was just
an excuse.
She knew Garrett and I had a bitter falling out over Willow, but she was certain I couldn’t live
without Garrett.
That’s why she never intervened.
“Helena, I’m not holding grudges.”
“You can’t possibly be unaware of what happened between Garrett and me.”
“The company is full of your informants–you just think it’s normal for men to cheat and stray, so
you wanted to suppress me.”
Garrett’s father had always owed many romantic debts outside, and Helena never interfered.
But she didn’t understand–I wasn’t her.
I couldn’t turn a blind eye and watch my man be rotten to the core.
“Unfortunately, I’m not a fool, and I don’t want to be one.”
I stepped back and stood behind Phoenix.
At that moment, my father and Grandfather Montgomery walked in together.
“Well, how lively!”
“It’s been a while since your Montgomery family was this lively, hasn’t it, old master?”
Grandfather Montgomery looked at Phoenix and me holding hands tightly, and smiled.
“Yes, it’s all thanks to our dear Aria.”

Grandfather Montgomery took the stage and first said some official words.
Then his tone changed: “Today’s family dinner serves three purposes–first, to gather everyone together; second, to announce Phoenix and Aria’s marriage; and third…”
