Billionaire’s ch 6

Chapter

In an unnoticed corner, the groom’s wedding ring was nearly crushed out of shape in his grip.

The warmth from his palm made my heart race suddenly.[

Looking up into Marcus’s deep eyes, I had always found them too cold before, but now I could clearly see the undisguised possessiveness surging within them.

I instinctively wanted to step back but stumbled on the red carpet.

Marcus wrapped his arm around my waist, steadying me in his embrace.

Still so clumsy?

His low voice brushed against my neck with his breath, sending shivers through me.[

But that’s fine. From now on, you’ll only fall into my arms.

My cheeks flushed involuntarily.[

I remembered three years ago, when I was doing business with Luca in South City, the other party habitually doublecrossed deals

I led a team to the docks to seize goods and happened to rescue Marcus.[

Since then, I’d gained a persistent pursuer.

He sent flowers and gifts, spending fortunes, all just to get me to leave this life.

I used to find his pursuit annoying and turned a deaf ear to his words

Until that night half a month ago when he suddenly called.[

Don’t go tomorrow. There’s an ambush waiting.[

His voice carried a rare tremor.[

I had hesitated, but thinking it was the engagement token Luca had promised, I went anyway.[

That night was full of blades and bloodshed. I was forced to the rooftop and fell with the necklace.[

A partition saved my life but left me unable to move.[

As I lay in the cold rain waiting to die, Marcus appeared.[

He carried me into his Maybach and disappeared into the rainy night.[

Outside the operating room, Luca hurried over, offered a few words of concern, then left with the necklace.

I didn’t mind I was used to pain and even smiled to comfort him that I was fine.[

But when the anesthesia wore off and the agony made me claw through the bedsheets, only Marcus stayed by my bedside with redrimmed eyes

He wanted to speak but held back, finally silently offering me his hand, letting my nails dig deep into his palm.[

Nina, please go straight. Stop torturing yourself.]]

If I were your man, I’d never let you take such risks.

Luca, he simplyHe swallowed the rest, saying quietly, doesn’t deserve you.[

That night, moonlight made his face pale

Now under the spotlight, Luca’s complexion looked even worse than Marcus’s had that night.[

He suddenly rushed forward to pull me from Marcus’s embrace but was easily blocked.[

Mr. Santos,Marcus’s tone was cold, your bride is waiting for you.[

Luca glanced at Lucia, who was on the verge of tears, but stubbornly looked at me.[

Nina, don’t go. Whatever he can give you, I can too.]
