Chapter 6
Mid–sentence, I turned to look at Tiffany, who was still basking in her self–satisfaction.
“Secretary Warner, since you enjoy searching online, why don’t you look up how much a Cadillac Celestiq Presidential Armored Edition is worth?”
“WHAT?!”
Someone in the crowd suddenly exclaimed.
“That car–I’ve only seen it during presidential parades! It’s a custom vehicle for White House officials, and the entire body is bulletproof.”
“No wonder Mr. Grayson’s car got so damaged while hers only had minor scratches–it’s made of special materials!”
Hearing these speculations from the crowd, Tiffany’s face grew increasingly pale, her speech becoming incoherent:
“How is this possible… I… I thought it was just an ordinary domestic car.”
I held back my laughter, glancing at her from the corner of my eye:
“Secretary Warner, are you feeling incredibly regretful right now?”
“Did you think that because I drive such an inconspicuous car, you could manipulate me and twist the facts however you wanted?”
Rendered speechless by my retort, Tiffany could only turn pitifully to her boss for help.
“Mr. Grayson… considering all my years of dedicated service to the company, you have to save me!”
I smiled as I stared at Tiffany, who was now sweating profusely.
“Secretary Warner, I suggest you save your breath. Your boss can barely save himself–how could he possibly help you?”
Hearing my words, Maxwell’s face darkened, though he maintained his arrogant posture.
“Don’t push your luck. Don’t forget where you are–this is New York! My father, the Chairman of Grayson Industries, will make you regret this when
he finds out!”
“Oh? From Mr. Grayson’s tone, it sounds like you’re threatening me?”
I calmly took out my phone from my pocket.
“Why don’t I make that call for you?”
With that, I dialed Maxwell’s father, Victor Grayson, in front of everyone.
It rang for only two seconds before he answered, and I immediately activated the speakerphone.
“Good morning, Miss Reynolds!”
“Shouldn’t you be on a date with my son right now? What brings you to call me?”
I gave Maxwell a meaningful look before speaking unhurriedly.
“Victor, I only have one question for you.”
“Does your family feel like life has been too comfortable these past few years?”

Chapter 6
Before he could process what was happening, I mimicked Tiffany’s earlier tone with my boss.
“You have 10 minutes to get to Trump Tower, or I won’t hesitate to ensure New York gets a new leading business family!”
On the other end, Victor Grayson was silent for a moment, then I heard the sound of a cup being violently smashed.
“Miss Reynolds… please calm down. I’m on my way immediately!”
After this exchange, everyone present was completely stunned.
“Holy shit, who is this woman? She doesn’t even show respect to the founder of Grayson Industries!”
“This is New York–even with heavenly connections, you can’t easily overpower the local powers!”
As the current representative of the Grayson family, Maxwell was furious.
“Reynolds, whatever your identity, our family won’t let you get away with this!”
Looking at his contorted face, I waved dismissively.
“Mr. Grayson, you’ve got it backward.”
“The question isn’t whether your family will let me go, but whether I’ll let your family go.”
As soon as I finished speaking, Tiffany, Maxwell’s number one lackey, immediately stepped forward.
“You damn bitch! How dare you disrespect Mr. Grayson? I’ll have your life today!”
With that, she waved her hand, and more than a dozen well–trained bodyguards instantly surrounded me, each wearing Grayson Industries badges, their expressions menacing.
“STOP RIGHT NOW!”
At this critical moment, an urgent voice called from the distance.
A distinguished middle–aged man ran up to me, panting heavily, and spoke before he could even catch his breath.
“Miss Reynolds… I’m terribly sorry! Please forgive us! I hope you weren’t too startled!”
