Chapter 7
Dylan froze for a moment, furrowing his brow.
“What nonsense are you saying? Maeve couldn’t have…”
Before he could finish, someone’s phone accidentally connected to the Bluetooth, linking it to the
hotel’s large screen.
The entire top floor of the hotel was filled with the conversation Dylan had had with his Beta
assistant,
“I promised Liora I’d help her create the world’s greatest acrobat troupe. A few worthless creatures? They’re nothing.”
“Those are too ordinary. With the medicine I’ve designed, I can make Maeve give birth to whatever kind of monster I want. The more bizarre, the more attention it will draw, don’t you think?”
The video cut off, the screen immediately switching to a slideshow.
It was filled with the evidence I had captured that night in the study.
The room fell into complete silence, everyone’s gaze turning toward Dylan and Liora, filled with growing disdain.
Dylan’s elderly mentor, now over seventy, strode toward him and slapped him hard across the face.
“Monster! I taught you to save lives and heal the sick, supported your drug research, not so you could destroy your own wife and children!”
“You were my proudest student. It was you who said you broke up with Liora and asked me to introduce you to a girlfriend. That’s when I introduced you to the only daughter of my late friend, and you insisted on marrying Maeve. This is how you treat her?!”
“I’m not afraid to offend the Crystalveil Pack. As the head of the North’s top werewolf hospital, I’m
telling you–you’re fired. Go back to your pack! You’ve hurt your own family, and you still dare to
call yourself a doctor?!”
Dylan’s life ambition wasn’t to become the Alpha of his pack; it was to be the best doctor.
But now, he had destroyed that dream with his own hands.
Dylan’s face drained of color, a wave of panic sweeping over him,
Maeve had known all along. When had she found out?
Dylan suddenly remembered that night when I, with bloodied hands, had asked him where our pups

were.
She must’ve known then.
He could still hear that soul–crushing phrase echoing in his ears, “It’s so dirty… truly disgusting.”
Dylan finally understood I wasn’t talking about the watch, but about him.
“Professor, I’ve failed your teachings. I’m willing to resign from the hospital and apologize to you and my alma mater.”
“But right now, I have to go find Maeve. She’s alone at home, and I’m afraid…”
Before Dylan could finish his sentence, a stranger walked in, holding a banner.
“Alpha, good day. I’m the head of the North’s welfare agency. We’d like to thank Maeve Voss for her generous contributions to charity. This banner is for you. Please don’t mind it.”
“By the way, I also have a document here. Before Luna left your house the other night, she asked me to hand it to you today. I’m not sure why she didn’t give it to you in person…”
Dylan was puzzled. When had he asked me to donate anything to a charity?
But when he heard that I had left something for him, he immediately took the document and
opened it.
When he saw what was inside, Dylan froze.
“A Mate Bond Termination Agreement?! Maeve wants to break the mate bond with me?!”
Along with the Mate Bond Termination Agreement, I had left him a note.
Dylan trembled as he opened the note, and his eyes instantly filled with tears.
