Chapter 25
“Alright, fine, you won.” Dennis raised his hands in mock surrender, but his face showed no sign of regret.
Diana frowned and instinctively took a few steps back; she really didn’t like Dennis.
“Okay, let’s get down to business.” Dennis shrugged and gave Diana a smile. “I didn’t bring the gem today. It’s in my other studio. Ms. Getty, let’s set up a time, and I’ll take you there.”
“Fine, but since you’re a friend of Howard’s, you should call me Mrs. Spencer.” Diana smiled lightly. “After all, Howard and I are married, so it’s best to use the correct titles.”
A glint flashed in Dennis‘ eyes. He smirked and said, “Mrs. Spencer, you are right.”
After discussing the gem with Dennis for a few more minutes, Diana pulled Howard away.
As they left the suite and headed down to the lobby, both stayed quiet.
“I didn’t expect you to say that.” After a long pause, Howard’s deep voice broke the silence.
Diana glanced at Howard with mild annoyance and said, “In front of others, I still need to give you face, don’t I? Besides, I wasn’t wrong; we are indeed married.”
After a pause, Diana continued, “But I really didn’t expect your friend to be like that.”
Howard looked at Diana’s profile with interest and asked, “Do you dislike him?”
“His smile is very fake.”
“That’s true.” Howard chuckled, “Diana, you need to understand that business is like a battlefield. There are no permanent enemies or friends. I have business dealings with him, but we can’t be close.”
Diana fell silent. She didn’t understand these things well. In her previous life, her social circle revolved almost entirely around the Getty family and Robert, with little contact with outsiders. So, she didn’t grasp the complexities of human relationships.
“Diana.” After a long silence, Howard suddenly quickened his pace and grabbed Diana’s wrist. “Promise me you won’t meet Dennis alone.”
Diana turned back, surprised, and then laughed. “Don’t worry, I know what to do.”
“Hey, what’s going on with your hotel? My watch worth tens of thousands of dollars is missing from my room. Shouldn’t you be responsible?* In the hotel lobby, a sharp female voice rang out.
Diana paused slightly, squinting her eyes as she stared coldly and resentfully at a mother and daughter standing by the front desk, Emily and
Laura.
It seemed they hadn’t seen each other since the brief encounter at the last auction,
Seeing them, Diana sneered. Perhaps her gaze was too intense, as Laura suddenly turned her head, her eyes widening slightly.
“Diana?” Laura whispered.
Hearing this, Emily turned and saw Diana, her eyes lighting up instantly.
At this moment, Emily seemed to ignore Howard standing beside Diana and rushed towards Diana, flailing her arms. “You heartless person, come back with me now!”
*Mom!” Laura called out,
Before Emily’s hand could touch Diana, Howard knocked her to the ground.
Howard expressionlessly took out a handkerchief and wiped his fingers, saying coldly, “Diana is my wife. Disrespecting her is disrespecting me.”

Emily finally noticed Howard, her face going pale as a ghost.
“Mr. Spencer, my mom just misses Diana too much. Please forgive her for being impulsive,”
ura stepped forward, her voice soft and sweet.
Laura blinked her bright eyes, looking at Howard with hope and admiration. “Mr. Spencer, to make up for it, let me treat you to a meal.”
Diana raised an eyebrow, sneering at Laura’s pitiful act. “Laura, you really have a thing for other people’s men, don’t you?”
Laura’s face twisted, glaring at Diana. “What are you implying?”
“What do I mean?” Diana took a few steps closer, lowering her voice by Laura’s ear. “If Robert knew how fickle you are, do you think he’d let you
off?”
A flash of malice crossed Laura’s eyes. She raised her hand to slap Diana, but Howard stopped her.
“Mr. Spencer, you’re hurting me!” Laura fell into Howard’s arms, blinking her tearful, pitiful eyes at him.
Diana sneered at Laura’s lame tactics.
Howard’s face darkened. Without any pity, he pushed Laura, causing her to fall onto Emily.
“How dare you push me!” Laura looked at Howard in disbelief, thinking, ‘What does Diana have that I don’t? Why is he ignoring my advances? Don’t all men like weak women? Is Howard blind?‘
Howard looked at Laura with disdain, smiling. “I have a cleanliness fetish.”
Hearing that, Diana covered her mouth, almost bursting into laughter.
“Let’s go.” Howard ignored Emily and Laura, wrapping his arm around Diana’s waist as they left the hotel.
Just as they left, Dennis‘ voice came from around the corner.
He had seen the entire scene in the lobby.
“Interesting! It seems Mrs. Spencer is not simple at all!” Dennis smirked meaningfully as he looked at the disheveled Emily and Laura on the ground.
Meanwhile, Howard, with dark expression, shoved Diana into the car.
“Hey, what are you…” Before Diana could finish, Howard silenced her with a kiss.
Howard, full of pent–up anger, could only vent by biting and sucking on Diana’s lips.
“Let go…” Diana’s eyes became dazed from the kiss. She tried to push Howard away, but it only further angered him, making him kiss her even more fiercely.
For a moment, Diana almost thought Howard wanted to eat her lips.
Finally, Howard released her bleeding lips and moved to her slender neck,
“Wait, wait a minute!” Diana panicked, realizing they were in the hotel parking lot, and worried someone would see them.
*Howard! Diana finally managed to push Howard away. She adjusted her torn collar, her cheeks flushed, and her misty eyes glared at Howard’s deep eyes.
Are you sober now?” Diana panted slightly, her voice hoarse.
1Sorry.” Howard calmed down, then sat in the driver’s seat, staring ahead with an unreadable expression.
Diana, still angry, didn’t want to speak.
The car was filled with awkward silence.

After a long time, Howard sighed, started the car, and drove out of the hotel’s underground parking lot.
“Howard, I want to stay with Grandma for a few days,” Diana said.
