Chapter 22
“Dirty!” Howard spat out, his voice icy.
He’d done some digging on the Getty family and found out all sorts of dirt, especially the affair between Laura and Robert.
Thinking about Robert, Howard glanced at Diana, his eyes growing even colder, making her feel uneasy.
Laura, lying on the ground, turned even paler.
“Mr. Spencer, how can you call help me up?”
dirty!” Laura cried, covering her face with tears streaming down. “I’m just not feeling well. Mr. Spencer, can you
Laura’s weak act made a lot of guys feel sorry for her, silently cursing Howard for being so heartless.
Howard’s face stayed cold, not even giving Laura a second look. Instead, he turned back to Diana, gently holding her hand. “Are you tired?” he asked softly.
Diana blinked and then leaned into Howard’s arms with a sweet smile. “Yes,” she said tenderly.
Then let’s go home With that, Howard wrapped his arm around Diana’s waist and walked right past Laura.
Laura watched them leave with longing eyes, feeling furious that Diana had outshone her.
Her eyes turned red, and she glared venomously at Diana’s retreating figure.
Suddenly, Laura scrambled up from the ground and staggered towards Howard, but the security at the door stopped her.
“Laura!” Aiden and Emily finally pushed through the crowd and saw Laura standing there, dirty and forlorn, looking pitiful.
“Laura, where’s Mr. Spencer?” Aiden asked, looking around but not seeing anyone.
“Gone, Laura pouted, tears falling.
“Dad, Mom, I’m sorry. It’s my fault for not keeping Mr. Spencer. And Diana, she saw me fall and still held Mr. Spencer back from helping me.” Laura’s tears flowed even more.
“That bitch again!” Emily gritted her teeth in anger.
Seeing Laura cry so sadly, Emily quickly hugged her and comforted her softly, “Laura, don’t cry. We’ll get another chance.”
“Okay.” Laura leaned weakly into Emily’s arms, but a vicious glint flashed in her eyes.
Diana, you dare to ruin my plans. Next time, I’ll make sure you suffer!‘ Laura thought.
Meanwhile, Diana was so exhausted that she fell asleep as soon as she got in the car.
Howard drove attentively, occasionally glancing at Diana, the neon lights of the night market casting a mesmerizing glow on her peaceful sleeping face.
Howard’s lips curled up in a pleased smile as he watched Diana’s serene and pure sleeping face.
When the car silently pulled into the parking lot of the Spencer Villa, Diana was still asleep.
Howard called her softly a few times but couldn’t wake her, so he had to carry her back to rest.
After settling Diana in, Howard walked out of the room to find Sophia standing in the living room, looking at him with a stern expression.
“What’s wrong with Diana? How are you taking care of her?” Sophia’s anger flared as soon as she saw Howard, bombarding him with questions.
“Grande, youre su blased.” Howard felt helpless. Ever since he manied Diana, his status in Sophia’s eyes had plummeted.

Chapter 22
Sophia shot Howard a fierce look. “Don’t talk nonsense. Diana saved my life, and she’s had it rough. Can’t I show her more concern?”

“Alright, alright.” Howard reluctantly helped Sophia back to her room. “Grandma, for the sake of your favorite granddaughter–in–law, shouldn’t you get some rest? If she sees you looking tired tomorrow, she’ll worry.”

“Yes, I know.” Howard smiled wryly. Sophia reminded him countless times every day. Was he really that unreliable?
The next morning, Howard was jolted awake by the burning heat beside him.
“Diana?” Howard quickly got up and felt Diana’s forehead, realizing she had a fever.
A flash of worry crossed his eyes, and he hurried out of the room to call the private doctor.
At that moment, Diana was trapped in a nightmare.
In her dream, she seemed to return to the scene of her tragic death in her previous life.
The despair of having her limbs cut off and being placed in a vase, the sounds of Robert and Laura’s moans and curses from the bed.
“No!” Diana screamed and opened her terrified eyes, staring at the white ceiling.
Her chest heaved violently, the horrific scenes from her dream replaying in her mind, making her wonder if she had really been reborn.
Maybe she hadn’t been reborn, maybe she was still in Robert and Laura’s hands, being tortured.
Thinking of this, Diana couldn’t help but shiver.
“Diana?” The door opened, and Howard walked in.
Howard looked at Diana lying on the bed, pale and terrified, and frowned slightly.
He couldn’t recall ever seeing Diana show such a terrified and desperate expression, wondering what she was afraid of.
Howard slowly walked to the bedside and felt Diana’s forehead.
Noticing Diana’s body stiffen instantly, Howard silently withdrew his hand.
“Luckily, the fever has gone down. Do you want to eat something first? Howard asked softly in Diana’s ear.
Diana’s body trembled, and she blinked at Howard. Suddenly, tears streamed down her face without warning.
“Why are you crying?” For the first time, Howard’s cold face showed a flustered and helpless expression.
“Howard, are you picking on Diana again?” Sophia’s angry voice came from the doorway.
Sophia walked into the room, looking at Diana’s pale and weak face, feeling both angry and heartbroken. “Howard, I told you to take care of Diana, and this is how you do it!*
“Grandma, it’s nut me…
Shut up!
Howard reluctantly closed his mouth.
Eoptu walked to the bedside, gently stroking Diane’s face, and said tenderly, “Pour Diana, you must have suffered a lot.

Chapter 22
By now, Diana had recovered from her nightmare. Looking at the kind Sophia in front of her, she felt a lump in her throat. “Grandma, I’m fine. I just had a nightmare. It’s not Howard’s fault, don’t blame him.”
“You’ve suffered and still plead for Howard,” Sophia said, turning to glare at Howard.
