Chapter 9 That Is Impossible!
Estella’s lips turned pale, and her legs felt weak as she stood up. She asked one of the property staff, “I heard I have a package on the fifth floor.”
The staff looked confused. “But the fifth floor is an internal gym. There’s no way your package is there.”
A thought suddenly surfaced in her mind.
She held onto the wall for support as she walked outside, heading to the security booth at the entrance.
Seeing her, the security guard looked uneasy.
“Who told you to do this?” She clenched her fists tightly, her voice trembling.
The guard apologized, “I didn’t want to, Mrs. Hartwell. It was Mr. Hartwell who told me to.”
Estella found it laughable.
So Nathaniel is behind all this? Just because I embarrassed Isabelle last night? He actually told the security guard to mess with me?
Rage made Estella tremble. When she got home, she charged her phone and removed Nathaniel from her WhatsApp blocklist. Then she sent him a message. “Nathaniel, you’re shameless!”
Nathaniel quickly called her via WhatsApp. “Estella, if you don’t behave, this won’t be the last time.”

For the first time, Estella cursed at him. “Nathaniel, you’re a piece of sh*t!”
She hung up and blocked him again.
Blocked once more, Nathaniel fumed and turned to his assistant. “I only told you to cut off the water and electricity for one night to make her suffer a little. And she called me a piece of sh*t for that?”
The assistant spoke cautiously. “I… I didn’t expect Mrs. Hartwell to be this temperamental either.”
In the next room, Isabelle watched a video of Estella trapped in the elevator, feeling quite pleased. Then, she transferred a sum of money to the security guard.
After enduring the last few days, Madeline brought the divorce certificate.
Estella placed one copy of the divorce certificate on the coffee table, then opened a package. It contained two buckets of green paint.
She splattered the paint in every corner of the house, then texted Zelda, telling her to take the month off. She even sent her salary in advance.
Only after finishing all this did she pick up her suitcase and leave without looking back.
Shortly after Estella left, Nathaniel returned with Isabelle.
Isabelle clung to his arin, whining, “Nate, I’m starving. I really want to eat Estella’s home–cooked meals.”
Nathaniel said gently, “Don’t worry, I’ll have her cook for you.”
Given Estella’s recent attitude, he had deliberately ignored her for several days.
She must have reflected on it by now and would definitely beg for reconciliation.
Over the past three years, he had neglected her countless times, done even worse things, and in the end, she had always backed down.
Nathaniel thought, If she yields again, I’ll give her that supplementary card. If she thinks the credit limit is too low, I’ll raise it by 13,000 dollars.

As soon as he opened the villa’s door, a strong smell of paint filled his nose.
He stepped inside and saw green paint splattered everywhere on the walls, the couch, even his prized paintings.
His entire body shook with fury, and his expression turned menacing.
Isabelle’s eyes widened in shock. “Nate, what happened? How did your house turn into this?”
Veins bulged on Nathaniel’s forehead and neck.
Taking a deep breath, he grabbed Isabelle’s phone and called Estella.
At that moment, Estella was in a taxi when she received a call from an unknown number.
She answered coldly, “Who?”
“Estella, are you insane?” Nathaniel’s furious voice exploded through the speaker.
Estella smirked. The angrier he was, the happier she felt. “Do you like the divorce gift I left you?”
Nathaniel was still too furious about his ruined collection to notice the word “divorce.”
He roared, “Get back here right now!”

“I’m not coming back.” Estella’s voice is steady, like she’s just making casual small talk. “And don’t even think about suing me. A few days ago, you trapped me in the elevator overnight. That already counts as bodily harm. If you don’t want me to press charges, consider us even.”
“When did I ever trap you in an elevator?” Nathaniel found her claim utterly absurd.
He knew Estella had night blindness. He had only told someone to cut off the villa’s water and electricity to scare her a little.
How did it turn into her being trapped in an elevator?
Beside him, Isabelle blinked guiltily when she heard his words.
Estella sneered. “Oh, so you’ve been so busy that you forgot? Fine. If you want details, why don’t you ask the property staff?”
With that, she hung up and blocked him again.
“Estella!” Nathaniel still wanted to speak, but the call had already ended, and he was blocked again.
His chest heaved with rage.
“That woman is talking nonsense! When the hell did I ever trap her in an elevator?”
Nathaniel grabbed his phone and prepared to call his assistant. He needed to find out what exactly had happened to Estella that night.
But at that moment, Isabelle suddenly leaned weakly against him. “Nate, I feel so dizzy. Can we leave here first?”
Seeing that she was unwell, Nathaniel assumed the paint fumes had affected her and quickly helped her outside.
He had another villa nearby, so he took Isabelle there immediately.
By the time he remembered to have his assistant investigate Estella being trapped in the elevator, it was already nighttime.
The assistant quickly got to the bottom of it. “Mr. Hartwell, Mrs. Hartwell was indeed trapped in the elevator five days ago. A security guard led her there at the time, but that guard resigned this morning and is now unreachable.”
“Someone really tried to harm her?” Nathaniel gripped his phone, his voice laced with cold fury. “Find that guard no matter what it takes!”
Understood, Mr. Hartwell.”
Isabelle, listening from the side, felt her heart pound with fear.

Fortunately, she had given the guard money in advance and told him to disappear.
Finished
The assistant didn’t hang up and continued, “Mr. Hartwell, I’ve arranged for housekeeping to clean the villa. Also, I found a divorce certificate. Would you like me to send it to you?”
“Divorce certificate?” Nathaniel’s brows furrowed deeply. “What divorce certificate?”
Estella and I are fine. How could we possibly be divorced?
Sensing his confusion, the assistant decided to bring the document over in person.
When Nathaniel saw the divorce certificate, disbelief filled his eyes.
“Estella and I are divorced? That’s impossible! I never agreed to this!”
The assistant gave an awkward smile, unsure how to respond. He doesn’t know he’s divorced?
But Isabelle was delighted. So Nathaniel secretly planned this surprise for me?
Now that he was divorced, they could finally be together openly.
Just as she was about to celebrate with him, Nathaniel suddenly exploded in rage, throwing the divorce certificate to the floor.
“This is fake! There’s no way I divorced Estella!”
Unease crept into Isabelle’s heart.
Why isn’t Nate happy now that he’s finally free of that woman? Didn’t he hate Estella?
Nathaniel immediately called legal affairs.
After a brief hesitation, the lawyer finally said, “Mr. Hartwell, last month, your mother entrusted me with preparing a divorce agreement for you.”
Mom?
Furious, Nathaniel dialed his mother next.
When Madeline answered and heard he knew nothing about the divorce, she was baffled. “Nathaniel, you signed the divorce papers yourself. How could you forget something this important?”
