Wendy gave a satisfied nod. That’s right! It was Clara!
“Clara, you’re so bitter that you couldn’t become the Luna, so you took it out on me! You lured me in with that flower, knowing full well a beast was waiting for me!”
Right after Wendy’s accusation, Blake, who had supposedly been unconscious, cracked his eyes open and pointed at me with the last of his strength. “You’ve always been jealous of Wendy, but now you’ve actually tried to kill her. Good thing I protected her, or your plan would’ve worked.”
He forced himself to stand and walked over to Carl. “Mr. Ridgeton, I demand punishment for Clara. She didn’t even qualify to represent the pack and entered the competition anyway. And now, she’s nearly gotten our Lunn killed.”
Carl gave a slight nod, his expression unreadable.
Wendy thought she’d won, so her face was full of smug satisfaction “I told you you’re not cut out for something like

“I was only trying to protect you, and this is how you repay me, huh?” She sniffled and leaned dramatis into Blake’s arms
like the victim in a tragedy.

He pointed toward the big screen above the crowd and added, “Since you’re accusing Clara of trying to kill you, let’s roll back the footage and see exactly what happened.”
Wendy visibly panicked and gripped Blake’s sleeve like a lifeline.

Once the video finished playing, Wendy completely lost it. “That bitch Clara must’ve faked that footage! That’s not how it went down!”
The crowd, who had once pitied Wendy, now turned their sympathy toward me.
