Chapter 6
“Aunt and uncle, there is indeed someone who was in love with your son for years, but abandoned him after his accident.”
“It’s true he became disabled because of a woman, but that woman isn’t me.”
“If the woman he saved has to marry him, then you should go find Anna.”
I pointed at Anna and smiled calmly:
“I have proof of their years–long relationship, and of Keith getting buried under rubble while saving Anna during the Hawaii earthquake.”
“Including how Anna saved herself and ran, leaving Keith dying behind her.”
As the crowd gasped, I smiled at Michael and Lisa:
“Aunt and uncle, you’ve got the wrong person.”
“No, not me!”
Anna frantically denied it, but I showed no mercy. With a wave, photos scattered everywhere.
Every word I’d said was backed by evidence.
The photos showed Keith and Anna dining, traveling, shopping.
Kissing on street corners, visiting hotels together.

They went to Hawaii together too.
During the quake, Keith was buried saving Anna, but she fled alone.
He ended up disabled, while she escaped unharmed.
Anna was the one who loved Keith for years, and she caused his disability.
What did any of this have to do with me?
“So it was you, you bitch, who ruined my son!”
Lisa snapped, lunging hysterically at Anna.
“How dare you walk free after destroying my boy?”
“Won’t even glance at him–what kind of heartless monster are you?”
Two sharp slaps cracked across Anna’s face. Lisa’s strength left her no chance to fight back.
Seeing his love struck, Keith strained forward, eyes blazing.
“Mom, stop hurting Anna! She did nothing wrong–leave her alone!”
“Me hurt her?”
Lisa froze, glaring at Keith with pure rage.
“She destroyed your life! Your future’s ruined!”
“She won’t take responsibility, yet you defend her?”
Keith ignored his mother, gritting his teeth:

“Anna’s the love of my life. I’ll let no one harm her–not even you.”
He struggled to wheel his chair in front of Anna, gazing at her tenderly:
“Anna, don’t fear. I’ll protect you.”
Anna’s hair was messy, two bright red handprints marring her face.
She lowered her eyes, voice trembling:
“This is all my fault. I ruined you. Auntie should hate me.”
“I don’t deserve to live. Let me die.
“Don’t stop me–just let me end it.”
As Anna “tried to jump,” Keith grabbed her with his one good hand.
“Anna, how can you say that?
What would I do if you died?
You are my life!”
“Don’t listen to others. Just know I’d do anything for you–gladly.”
Keith stared into her eyes, devotion burning: “For you, I’d die happy.”
“How did I end up raising such a worthless wretch?”
Lisa collapsed into hysterical sobs while Michael kept sighing heavily.
As more onlookers gathered, Lisa crumpled to the ground, wailing and thrashing.
“Look what she’s done to you! Why won’t you repent?”

“What’s so special about that woman?
She’s nothing but a seductress, a walking disaster!”
Keith paid no attention to his mother’s words, his eyes fixed anxiously on Anna, terrified she might be upset.
I watched the scene with icy gaze–dogs biting dogs, with fur flying everywhere. How entertaining.
Yet I never expected Keith to suddenly turn his fury toward me.
He roared: “Margaret, what’s your game?”
“Why dig up all this dirt?
What are you plotting against Anna?”
His face contorted with malice:
“Listen well–harm one hair on Anna’s head, and I’ll end you.”
“What am I doing?”
I couldn’t help but laugh. “Keith, get your brain checked if it’s malfunctioning.”
“If you hadn’t insisted last time that you got crippled saving me, why would I bother gathering these documents?”
I knew the Rivera family’s nature too well.
Once they decided to pin their filth on me and leech off me, they’d never back down.
To protect myself, I had these papers collected–just in time for today.

Yet true to form, his shamelessness knew no bounds, twisting truth into lies.
But why would I indulge him?
I sneered: “Keith, you claimed you needed to marry me because you got disabled rescuing me.”
“Now it’s proven you took those injuries saving Anna.”
“Shouldn’t you two be getting married then?”
My lips curled coldly. “Or is it that Anna finds you repulsive, unwilling to marry you?”
“So you’re desperately begging me to take responsibility?”
“What nonsense are you spouting?”
Keith’s rage exploded:
“Anna would never reject me!
We’ll marry right now!”
“How perfectly wonderful.
I applauded slowly. “Do invite me to the wedding.”
