Chapter 18
The brother froze, “It seems… it seems like trying on a wedding dress.”
Reynald’s heart was pounding crazily as he looked at the phone screen once again.
July 8th.
He never forgot that his wedding with Gabriella was on July 18th.
Reynald immediately rushed out of the compartment. He wanted to find Gabriella, whom he hadn’t seen in five years. He was desperate to see her.
The bridal shop arrived.
Reynald ran around like a headless fly, but he found nothing.
“Gabriella.”
Reynald turned his head at the sound, just as the curtain was pulled back to reveal Gabriella in a one–shoulder wedding dress, her long hair cascading down, her beauty shining brightly.
In an instant, Reynald seemed to be frozen in place.
His heart was pounding violently, five years had passed, and it wasn’t until this moment that Reynald felt alive again.
Gabriella tilted her head, feeling a bit embarrassed.
“Will it not look good? Maybe I should go try some others again.”
“Nice.”
Reynald hoarsely spoke, unable to control himself any longer, and rushed

over to embrace her.
“I miss you so much, Gabriella. I miss you so much that I’m almost going crazy.”
After a brief moment of confusion, Gabriella began to struggle, “Let go, what are you doing!?”
Reynald was forcefully pulled apart by a man, and then punched in the face.
He immediately fought back, with a fierce force, and now everything is in
chaos.
Bang-
A mug hit Reynald’s forehead, and blood immediately trickled down his cheek. Reynald turned around and saw Gabriella’s hand still not pulled back, standing frozen in place.
Gabriella took two steps back in fear, but she restrained herself and stood in front of the man, tenderly examining his wound.
“Brandon, are you in pain? I’ll take you to the hospital.”
Brandon Krause smiled and held her hand, “It doesn’t hurt, no need to go to the hospital.”
Reynald’s throat felt dry, and the intimacy of their closeness stung his
eyes.
“Gabriella…”
“Who was he?”
Gabriella intervened, glaring at him with an unfriendly expression. “Sir, I haven’t even asked who you are yet! Suddenly getting physical and hitting people!”
Chapter 18
Reynald’s mind went blank.
He stared at Gabriella without blinking, trying to detect any hint of unnaturalness in her eyes. But there was none.
In her eyes, there was only complete strangeness and wariness. How could this be?
On July 8th, Gabriella was clearly trying on wedding dresses for their wedding.
“You couldn’t not know me, look at me again, I’m Reynald, do you
remember now?”
Reynald instinctively stepped forward, but was stopped by Brandon.
“Sir, I don’t care what you were up to, but clearly, you scared my fiancée.”
“How could she be your fiancée, she was clearly my wife, she was clearly…”
Gabriella grabbed Brandon and said, “Don’t pay attention to this crazy person, let’s go. We still need to pick out invitations with my mom and them.”
Brandon led her back.
As she walked out the door, Gabriella glanced back at Reynald and muttered, “Weird.”
Reynald’s heart also felt empty when he couldn’t see Gabriella’s figure.
“Sir, are you mistaken? Ms. Hensley and Mr. Krause have been childhood sweethearts for twenty years, the clerk inquired.”
Reynald curled his fingers.
Gabriella was 15 years old when Carissa passed away.
Chapter 10
Gabriella is now 20 years old, who is the woman she calls mom?
She was still the same person, but everything seemed to have spiraled out of control.
Reynald left the bridal shop in a daze, sending someone to investigate Gabriella’s past. When the information was finally laid out in front of him, he felt like he had been struck by a heavy blow.
Everything in the past was exactly the same as he remembered, until the fork in the road 20 years ago, when Carissa was not abducted, but instead brought the trafficker to justice.
Gabriella was loved by everyone from birth and walked the path she was supposed to. However, her life had no connection to Reynald anymore.
Reynald looked at the last line of the document.
On July 18th, it was Gabriella’s wedding.
But this time, the person she was going to marry was no longer him.
