I let her shake me, unable to hold back the smile that spread across my face.]]
“Why? Because you’re stupid and greedy.“[]
In an instant, she let go, stumbling backward, a look of pure horror on her face.]
“You… you came back too.“[]
She lowered her eyes in thought for a moment, and when she looked up again, her gaze was bloodshot with rage.[]
“You came back for revenge. You knew the truth all along. You just wanted to see me end up like this.“[]
“Or did you interfere? Was I supposed to marry into that family?“]

She lunged for me again, her eyes burning with resentment.[]
“Yes, that has to be it. Otherwise, how were you so rich in our last life? The luxury cars, the mansion, the entourage.“]
“Give me back my life! Give it back!“]
Seeing the intense malice in her eyes, I slapped her hard across the face.]]
“Did you really think someone like you could just stumble into a billionaire family on the street? You don’t even try to hide the greed in your eyes.“]
“In our last life, when that old man asked me who I was for the third time, I knew something was wrong with him.“]
I pointed to my head and continued.]]
“You noticed it too, didn’t you? You just didn’t want to believe it.“[]

“Impossible! Just because your last name is Sterling, you think you’re related to the Sterlings?”
“You were so pathetic and poor for the last four years.“]
My smile deepened as I let out a mocking laugh.
“You hick. What truly wealthy person, other than you, is desperate to tattoo ‘I’m rich‘ on their forehead for the world to see?“]
“Oh, by the way, you know why my clothes have my name embroidered on them, like I’m afraid of losing them? It’s because they’re custom–made.“]
My gaze swept over her dismissively.]

“They cost dozens of times more than that million–dollar outfit you’re wearing.“]]
My words were a dagger to her heart. Jessica’s eyes flashed with rage, but in an instant, her entire demeanor shifted.]]
“Riley, I was blinded by greed. Thinking back, you’ve actually been so good to me all these years.“[]
“I know I was wrong. Can you please forgive me?“]]
As she spoke, she started to sink to her knees, but I took a small step back, having no intention of helping her up.
She looked slightly stunned for a second, then immediately began kneeling and bowing her head to the ground in repentance]
“Riley, please save me. Since you’re a billionaire’s daughter, a few million must be nothing to you, just a drop in the bucket.“[]
I remained silent, lifting a hand to casually inspect my nails.[]
Jessica caught the movement and began bowing even harder, until her forehead was red and swollen.[]
At this moment; her dignity was worthless compared to a million dollars of debt.]
As the minutes ticked by, I lost interest.[]
I walked up, grabbed her chin, and slapped her hard across the face, several times.]]
“Seeing you beg and grovel puts me in a great mood. But then I look at you, and all I can remember is how you killed me in my last life.”

Jessica struggled feebly as I leaned in and whispered in her ear.[]
“I’ve always believed in an eye for an eye. You killed me, so I’m going to make your life a living hell.“]]

As soon as the words left my mouth, I pushed her away, toward the crowd of creditors who were closing in on her like hungry wolves.
It was as if I had personally shoved her back into the abyss.
After a few peaceful days, I started an internship at my family’s company as part of my research project.]
Then, one morning, just as I arrived at the company building, someone grabbed me.
I looked closer and saw it was Jessica’s family. The one holding my arm was her brother, Tyler.]]
“Honey, you’re finally here!“]
His excited expression and the way he addressed me made me frown.]
I glared at him and yanked my arm free.]]

He tried to sidle up to me with a fawning smile, but I stopped him with a sharp command.]
“Take one more step and I’m calling the police!“]]
Tyler rubbed his hands together, looking embarrassed.]
“Jess, come over here and talk some sense into Riley for me.“]
As soon as he finished, Jessica peeked out from behind him.
Her face was covered in bruises, with several distinct handprints on one cheek.
When she looked at me, her eyes were cold and calculating.
