Chapter 30: Eyeballing Her Size
The scandal skyrocketed to #1.
Wendy scrolled the comments, calm–and fiercely satisfied.
Queenie’s reputation was half–ruined. It wasn’t total victory–Steven’s power still loomed–but when Wendy was strong enough, she’d settle every
account.
Her phone rang–an unfamiliar number. She knew immediately who it was.
Steven, coming to rage and demand.
With proof laid out, he would still choose to trust Queenie. Mule–kicked brains.
She snorted and blocked the number.
For the next ninety minutes, call after call hit her phone from various strangers.
When she didn’t answer, they kept coming.
Irritated, she powered down entirely. By the time Steven located the hospital, she’d be long gone.
Elsewhere, Steven stared at his screen, face black as ink.
“Mu–han, I didn’t do any of that,” Queenie wept. “Your sister is smearing me–she must be punishing me for the past-”
This time, he didn’t placate her; impatience flickered as Wendy’s name refused to leave his mind.
A mere cardiac surgeon couldn’t have stirred up a storm of this scale. Someone was pushing behind her. Harry?
But Harry was neck–deep in family trouble–yet still had time to help Wendy?
Grinding his teeth, Steven shook Queenie’s hand off.
“Don’t worry. I’ll give you an answer,”
He left.
Queenie’s face collapsed into a scowl, jealousy boiling.
Now, of all times, he ran after Wendy? Shouldn’t he be suppressing the news?
Or… had the noise gotten to him? Did he actually believe that bitch?
She could only wait.
Steven traced Wendy’s location to the hospital–only to find the room empty.
“Where is the woman in this ward?” he snapped at a nurse.
“She… left just now,” the nurse stammered.
“Where?!”
She glanced toward the stairwell.

Steven followed–and spotted a slim figure in a hospital gown crossing the rooftop.
Rotor wash whipped his coat. A helicopter crouched there, engine screaming.
“Wendy! Where are you going? Stop right there!”
Why was there a helicopter on the roof? What was she doing?
Wendy paused, turned, and gave him a cool, mocking look.
So he had come. Too late.
She stepped into the cabin.
Steven lunged, but two bodyguards slammed him to the ground.
“Let me go! Wendy, get down here! If you dare leave–so help me-
He sprawled, humiliated, shouting at the shrinking door.
Wendy barely spared him a glance as the cabin sealed and the aircraft lifted.
Seeing him finally so small, so powerless–yes, it was worth it.
Steven clawed for the sky–then a sharp prick at his nape, and the world went black.
Once they landed, Wendy powered on her phone. Messages flooded in–mostly from Steven.
“Don’t you ever come back!”
“Harry is just playing you. He’ll toss you like trash. Don’t come crying then!”
“Michael hates you. You were never a mother. You’re not fit to live with us. From now on, Queenie is our only family.”
Family?
To Wendy, the Price family was sugar–dusted poison, nothing more.
“Miss Ulrich? I’m Sarah, the housekeeper Mr. Robinson arranged for you. Call me if you need anything.”
A female housekeeper waited by the pad.
Wendy felt… seen. Even if she couldn’t reach Harry, he had set everything in place.
Meticulous man. Her regard ticked a notch higher.
In the car, she finally asked, “Where is Mr. Robinson? Is he all right?”
“Please rest assured,” Sarah said with a smile. “He’s at the hospital with the old master. The young master is also admitted, with a dedicated medical
team.”
Wendy exhaled.
Thirty minutes later, the car rolled through the gates of a vast private estate–its scope impossible to take in at a glance.
I’m… living here? she thought, stunned.

“This is Mr. Robinson’s private manor,” Sarah explained, leading her inside. “He and the young master usually live here. He asked that you stay here for now: he’ll return when things are settled.”
In the bedroom, everything had been prepared down to the smallest detail–even women’s sleepwear.
Wendy flushed. Surely Sarah had arranged that. No need to overthink-
Ping.
A message lit her phone.
“Doctor Ulrich, do you like the clothes I prepared?”
She froze, heat rising. She typed:
“You picked the set on the bed?”
“Mm. hosen to your taste.”
She lifted the outfit, holding it to her body. The size was… perfect.
“How did you know my measurements?”
A few seconds‘ pause. Then two words:
“Eyeballed them.”
Wendy’s cheeks burned hotter.
He was getting bolder.
And to her surprise–she didn’t mind at all.
