I was too shocked to speak. I stood there dumbfounded as Liv entered the passcode and walked into my home.[]
The passcode was my birthday.[]

couldn’t even react to what was happening, just stared blankly as Liv proudly gestured toward my massive living room:

Liv basked in the praise, her smile never fading. She lifted her chin slightly and pointed to the sofa: “Have a seat, I’ll make coffee.”

Liv became embarrassed, muttering: “What’s going on? I saw him do it like this last time…“]
Expressionless, I walked over and pressed a button on the back.
The coffee beans began roasting and grinding, releasing a rich aroma.
Liv smoothed her hair, her face flushing: “I forgot how to use it… it’s been so long. Go sit down, my boyfriend will be back soon.“[
I didn’t move, instead asking: “Does your boyfriend drive a black Aston Martin?“]
“A… a what?” Liv stuttered, then quickly recovered, “Yes, an Aston. Black. I posted about it before.“]
I nodded and turned to sit on the sofa.
The roommates around me continued marveling at my apartment’s decor while I looked out the window, inwardly laughing coldly.
Well, now I understood what was happening.]
My boyfriend was using my apartment, my car, and my money to hit on girls, and he’d targeted my roommate.]

I’d only moved into the new dorm recently and hadn’t mentioned my roommates to him. He had no idea Liv and I were roommates.
It made sense–between a genuine rich girl carrying Hermès and me, supposedly borrowing cars and apartments from “friends,” his choice wasn’t surprising.
These two were perfectly matched–a fake tycoon and a wannabe socialite.[]
They truly were made for each other.]]
But using my things to impress? That crossed the line.[]
I didn’t expose Liv right away. I was waiting for Drew to return.[]
I was really looking forward to seeing his face when he saw me.]
I didn’t wait long. Drew seemed eager to secure his relationship with the “rich” Liv and returned quickly.[]
When the elevator stopped at the door, Liv excitedly ran to open it. A massive bouquet of flowers appeared, 999 roses wrapped into a huge bundle that completely obscured the person behind them.]

No wonder. A few days ago, Drew told me he was short on living expenses and asked me to help him out.]
I genuinely thought he didn’t have money for food and immediately transferred him $500.
Turns out he was fleecing me to buy flowers for someone else.]
In all our years together, Drew had only given me flowers once–a single stem that came free from a restaurant promotion.]
I’d always been understanding about his financial situation, but apparently he wasn’t truly frugal–he just didn’t think spending money on me was worthwhile.
Liv had thoroughly established her image in front of our roommates. Her face almost bloomed with happiness as she took the roses with both hands and pulled Drew into the living room, her voice brimming with pride:
“Let me introduce you all–this is my boyfriend. His family owns a chain of five–star hotels. If you guys ever need anything-“]
Before she could wrap up, I got to my feet and started applauding.
“Awesome, awesome! You two are such a power couple, Liv. What’s his name? Your boyfriend sounds almost too good to be real!”

Chapter 5
The instant Drew laid eyes on me, the cheerful look on his face before turned as pale as a ghost![]
He dropped Liv’s hand as if electrocuted and froze on the spot.[]
Liv hadn’t caught on yet and was pleased by my enthusiasm. She smirked: “Just call him Drew. He’s in the investment club. If you need anything, just ask him, right, Drew?!“]
Drew broke into a cold sweat, staring at me like he’d seen a ghost, his lips trembling.[]
Liv pushed him impatiently: “Say something!“]
“Ah!” Drew snapped back to reality, nodding nervously, “Y–yes… right.“[]
He didn’t dare look at me again, his ey
darting around.[]
I noticed he was still holding my car keys–probably just returned in my car.
I gripped the back of the sofa, my eyes narrowing.]
He were playing me for a fool–mooching off me for everything while schmoozing with higher–ups behind my back.[]
I couldn’t stand it anymore. With a mocking smile, I turned to Drew:]
“So Drew, nice place you have here. When did you buy it?“]
Drew wiped his cold sweat, his voice trembling, avoiding my gaze.]
With roommates all around and Liv watching, admitting this wasn’t his apartment would be utterly humiliating!]
He had no choice but to lower his head and play along: “Um… not long ago. 2016, or maybe 2017.”
I laughed: “Oceanview Heights wasn’t even built until 2022. Did you travel back in time to buy it?”
Drew’s face instantly turned red: “Maybe I got it mixed up…“]
I nodded: “What’s the HOA fee per square foot here?“]
Drew looked at me imploringly, unable to speak.]
By now, all the roommates sensed something was wrong. They sat on the sofa whispering, looking at Drew with confusion.[]
Liy also paused, then glared at me angrily: “Maddie, what are you implying? You’re just jealous!]
“Drew’s family owns so many properties, how could he remember everything!“]
“Oh, did Drew not tell you that this apartment isn’t his, but mine?” I replied.]]
As soon as I said this, everyone froze.
Chapter 5
The huge living room fell silent as everyone stared at me, seemingly not comprehending what I meant.[]
Drew’s body swayed as he lowered his head and clenched his fists.[]
I stood up and let out a cold laugh. “Sorry to burst your bubble, everyone. This apartment was actually bought by my parents for me to live in during my college days. Too bad I had really bad judgment when it came to guys, and I ended up with this loser who used my apartment and my car to hit on other girls.[]
“It’s no wonder you don’t know a thing about the HOA fees–you just stole my card and the password. Let me fill you in-
“This place was bought in the early part of 2023. It’s got a total area of 180 square meters. The HOA fee every month is a whopping 4000 bucks. The sofa I’m sitting on is from Baker Furniture, that chandelier hanging up there is by Barovier&Toso, and the flooring is from Bolon. All in all, including the renovations, this whole unit cost around 60 million dollars.“]
I walked right up to Drew and stared at his pale face. I gave a soft snort and said,[]
“Get it now, you fake–ass?“]
Liv was stunned.

She shoved Drew hard: “Drew, say something! Maddie’s making this up, right?!”
Drew stumbled from her push, head down, speechless.
Now everyone understood what was happening. Their expressions were priceless as they sat awkwardly on the sofa watching Drew.
Liv still refused to believe it. She glared at me viciously: “Maddie, stop lying! You’re not welcome here–get off now!“]
Asking me to leave my own home?]
I raised an eyebrow, glancing at Drew who looked like he wanted to vanish into thin air:]
“The passcode is 051003, right?“]
Liv froze, her expression instantly changing: “You… you saw me enter it.”
I shook my head and smiled: “Dummy, it’s my birthday! Not only is this apartment not Drew’s, but the car isn’t either. If you want to date him, you might as well date me directly!“[]
