Chapter 9
Caspian stubbornly held onto me, not letting me leave.[]
My lab mates, who’d been holding back their anger, decided they’d had enough.[]
“Fucking scumbag, get lost!”]
“Touch Posey one more time and I’ll chop off your damn hands!“]
My lab mate punched Caspian hard enough to make him stagger backward.[]
Caspian shifted his gaze to my lab mate, and his eyes immediately turned red.[]
Like an enraged lion, he pointed at my lab mate and demanded:[]
“Is he why you ran from the wedding? How far have you two gone?”
“Are you being this cruel just to get revenge on me?”
I took a deep breath and said slowly:]
“Caspian, don’t assume everyone is as disgusting and dirty as you. Most importantly, we’re already broken up!“[]
“I didn’t agree to break up!”
“I don’t need your agreement. I’m just informing you of the result.“[]
After getting punched and rejected, Caspian’s pride was wounded, and he immediately struck out at my lab mate:
“Posey is my wife! Stay away from her!“]
He was like a beast protecting its food.
I hadn’t expected Caspian to get physical. My lab mates immediately worked together to beat Caspian to the ground.
Not wanting my lab mates to get in unnecessary trouble because of me, I held them back.
“Forget it, let’s just go!”
Caspian spat out blood viciously:]
“Posey Ross! How can you be so heartless! Twenty years of feelings and you just throw them away! What am I to you?“]
His roar made me wonder if he’d been possessed by a ghost.]
In any case, he didn’t think he’d done anything wrong.]
Was it that my absence made his escape less exciting, or was he unwilling to accept being played for once?]

But he’d forgotten that during my two years abroad, he’d betrayed me for two years, toying with my feelings for two years.]
Again and again.
Every plane ticket was evidence of his betrayal.[]
But I didn’t want to argue with him anymore about who was right or wrong.
From the moment I decided to skip the wedding, this relationship had no room for recovery.[]
“Caspian, people have to look forward. Please leave!“]
He clung to my legs, refusing to let go:
“Posey, to err is human–can’t you give me one more chance? I promise I’ll never lie to you again!“]
Seeing me stop, he shakily climbed up and knelt on one knee, pulling out a jewelry box from his pocket.[]
Inside was a diamond ring even larger and more dazzling than the one on Ruelle’s finger.]
“Posey, will you marry me?”
His figure overlapped with the image of him proposing to Ruelle that day.
The scene of them kissing passionately while mocking me flashed through my mind again.]
But now, I felt nothing.
Having been hurt so deeply and caught so off guard, I’d become immune.]]
As I was about to refuse, a figure rushed out from the shadows.
He grabbed the diamond ring and ran off at lightning speed.]
Seeing his proposal ring get stolen, Caspian immediately endured the pain and chased after that man.]
My lab mates and I shook our heads and went home together.]
