Chapter 11
The next day, Elijah finished packing her last suitcase and left the Morgan residence, her
expression perfectly composed.
Ethan watched her back as she walked away, yet an unsettling sense of panic gnawed at him.
He knew he’d wronged Elijah these past few days, so he couldn’t blame her for being angry.
Once she cooled down, he’d be sure to win her over.
As far as “blind dates” went, Ivan had a decent face and carried himself with politeness.
When they met, he smiled gently and said they could just treat today as two friends hanging out.
Over drinks, they began talking about anything and everything.
Elijah had always loved reading, and Ivan had a wide range of knowledge as well. His humor was clever, and his words smooth.
After a few glasses of wine, Elijah gradually loosened up, mocking herself inwardly for being overly
tense.
She was just a few days away from leaving the Morgan residence, and meeting a new friend didn’t seem like such a bad idea after all.
With that thought, her heart finally lightened.
When the date ended, Ivan grabbed his car keys and offered,
“It’s not safe for a young woman to go home alone. Let me drive you.”
Elijah agreed without hesitation.
But halfway through the drive, she realized the road was growing increasingly unfamiliar and
remote.
“Where… where are we going?”
Ivan’s expression had turned cold, entirely different from the polite man she’d met earlier.
A sharp unease rose in Elijah’s chest. She quietly reached for the door handle, but it wouldn’t budge.

“Um… maybe you should just let me out here. I can get home myself-”
The alcohol took over. The polite mask fell away, and Ivan’s true, repulsive nature was laid bare.
“Quit pretending to be some pure little saint! You agreed to come on a date–don’t act like you don’t know what’s supposed to happen!”
With that, he pulled the car over roughly, yanked her closer, and his hands started wandering.
Elijah screamed for help and kicked wildly, trying to break free. But just as she made it out the door, he dragged her back in.
The alcohol and pain clouded Ivan’s mind, making him more violent as he tried to rip her clothes
apart.

“Bitch! Hannah already told me you’re just Ethan’s worn–out little toy! Why should I treat you with respect?”
“It’s fine when Ethan fucks you, but I’m not good enough, huh?”
“All of you look down on me! You think I’m trash just because I’m a bastard? Screw you all! If I can’t get back at those bastards, I can sure as hell take it out on you!”
His breathing grew heavier, his words slurred and bitter.
“So what if I’m a bastard? I’ve got plenty of money! How do you usually please Ethan, huh? Please me the same way and I’ll buy you anything you want!”
Inside the car, Elijah fought desperately, screaming for help until her throat burned raw.
Fortunately, Ivan had drunk too much and his strength faltered. Seizing the opportunity, Elijah
aimed a vicious kick between his legs.
He collapsed with a groan, giving her just enough time to grab her phone and bolt into the darkness.
Her trembling hands barely managed to dial the police as she hid along the side of the pitch–black
road.
Only when she saw flashing blue–and–red lights cutting through the night did her body finally give
out, and she passed out cold.
When she woke up again, she was lying in a hospital bed.
Nearby, a loud commotion filled the room. It was Ivan’s indignant shouting:

“I wasn’t even interested in her!”
“I was just giving her a ride home, but she kept telling me to take the side road. Then she came on to me first, trying to grab me, and I didn’t even scold her!”
“She came after me, and when I refused, she kicked me! Now she’s framing me–how the hell am I the bad guy here?!”
And then came Hannah’s soft, tearful voice:
“I know Elijah has always hated me…”
“Ivan used to chase after me, it’s true. I didn’t accept him, but I did think he was an excellent person. That’s why I introduced him to Elijah. If she didn’t want to meet him, she could’ve just
refused!”
“I don’t understand why she had to kick him and then accuse him like this… I really don’t…”
Elijah slowly opened her eyes.
A police officer immediately stepped closer, his voice gentle but urgent:
“Ma’am, are you conscious now?”
She gave
Ivan.
a faint nod, her voice weak but firm as she raised a trembling hand and pointed straight at
“Him. Attempted rape.
“”
Then, without pause, she turned her finger toward Hannah.
“Her. Instigated it.”
