Chapter 24
After taking care of Diana during her last illness, Howard’s attitude towards her had totally shifted.
He wasn’t all distant and polite anymore. Sometimes, he’d even show some affection in front of Sophia, like they were a young couple in love.
Sophia was over the moon with Howard’s change. She was all smiles every day, and you could see her health getting better.
One day, Sophia pulled Diana aside with a mysterious look and whispered, “Diana, when are you and Howard gonna have a baby?”
Diana’s eyes went wide in shock, realizing Sophia was already nudging them about having a kid.
Seeing the hopeful look in Sophia’s eyes, Diana awkwardly smiled and said, “Grandma, we’re still young. Let’s talk about kids later.”
“Alright,” Sophia sighed, “I’m not trying to pressure you. It’s just that I’m getting old, and I don’t know how much longer I have…”
“Grandma! Diana didn’t want to hear that and quickly interrupted, “Grandma, as long as you stay happy every day, you’ll definitely live a long and healthy life.”
Well, I hope so. Sophia smiled kindly and then started chatting with Diana, dropping the baby talk.
Diana secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
She understood Sophia’s desire for great–grandchildren.
But Diana and Howard had an agreement. Even though Howard’s attitude had improved a lot, Diana couldn’t believe it was love.
After the painful lessons of her past, she wasn’t hoping for any kind of affection.
But every time Howard got close, her heart would flutter. She wondered if she was falling for him.
Just thinking about falling in love again made Diana shiver, so she decided to just let things happen naturally.
*Diana, we’re moving back to Luxe Haven Apartments tomorrow,” Howard said out of the blue during dinner with Sophia one evening.
“Why?” Diana blinked, puzzled.
Howard paused and said lightly, “It’s closer to the company.”
Diana thought, ‘Don’t you drive? What difference does it make where you go to the company from?”
“I want to stay with Grandma,” Diana lowered her eyes and said softly.
“We can come back every week to company Grandma for a couple of days,‘ Howard said,
“But…” Diana started to say something but was interrupted by Sophia.
“Going back is good,” Sophia put down her utensils and said with a smile, “You two are so sweet in front of me every day. It’s better if you go back and just visit me regularly.”
“Grandma, Diana looked at the smiling Sophia and called softly, blushing.
“Diana, Sophia leaned in and whispered in Diana’s car, “You and Howard can spend more time together and maybe a baby will come soon.”
Realizing Sophia hadn’t given up on the baby idea, Diana felt helpless.
Since Sophia agreed, Diana couldn’t argue and obediently agreed. “Grandma, I’ll come back to visit you every week.*
“Alright,”
The next day, Diana and Howard moved back to Luxe Haven Apartments.

Chapter 24
I
After returning to the apartment, Diana realized that while it was indeed closer to the Spencer Group, it was farther from the antique shop where she restored paintings.
The antique shop wasn’t getting much business lately, so Diana decided to look for jobs online.
After all, she still owed Howard $500 million.
While Diana was frowning and scrolling through job listings, Howard walked in.”
He glanced at the computer and said casually, “Do you know how to restore gems?”
Diana’s hand paused on the mouse. She looked up at Howard with bright eyes, surprised.
Back in the day, Isabella had taught Diana how to forge, restore, and carve gems.
Some of the gemstones currently on display in museums were restored and carved by Diana. To avoid trouble, she hadn’t used her own name and had warned the museum officials to keep it confidential.
“Of course I can. Do you have a job for me?” Diana raised an eyebrow and gave Howard a bright, confident smile.
Howard stared at Diana’s confident smile and couldn’t help but smile himself.
He thought of the investigation report James had given him yesterday.
“Mr. Spencer, I used all available resources and could only dig up information about Mrs. Spencer’s time with the Getty family. As for before that, all we know is that Mrs. Spencer was from an orphanage and had a close relationship with Isabella. We couldn’t find any other information.”
“What about Isabella?” Howard asked.
“This Isabella is even more mysterious. It seems that besides Mrs. Spencer, no one has seen her,” James replied.
Thinking of this, Howard’s eyes grew darker and deeper, and he became more interested in Diana.
*Yes, I have a friend who recently acquired a gem. However, it’s severely damaged, and he couldn’t find any skilled craftsmen to restore it. Would you like to give it a try??
Diana raised an eyebrow and smiled. “Sure!”
After setting a meeting time, Howard took Diana to the Azure Palace Hotel.
The Azure Palace Hotel was the most famous and luxurious five–star hotel in Emerald City. Its owner, Dennis Gonzalez, was well–known in the business circle. Unlike Howard’s cold demeanor, Dennis was rumored to be a warm and smiling person with many women around him.
As Diana walked on the reflective marble tiles inside the hotel, she had a guess about Howard’s friend.
Sure enough, Howard led Diana into a luxurious suite on the top floor, where a tall man with a smile on his face greeted them.
“Howard, you’re here, Dennis smiled at Howard, then his gaze fell on Diana. “And this lady is?”
“My wife, Diana Getty, and she is the restorer I mentioned, Howard said in a flat tone, not sounding very friendly.
Diana glanced at Howard in surprise.
“So, this is Mrs. Spencer. Nice to meet you,‘ Dennis smiled and extended his hand to Diana.
Nice to meet you. Diana shook Dennis hand briefly and then pulled back,
Somehow, Diana didn’t like the smile on Dennis’s face, which felt fake.
Mr. Gonzalez, did you bring the gem today?” Diana took a deep breath and asked calmly.
“Call me Dennis. Since Howard and I are good friends, can I call you Diana?” Dennis said.

Chapter 24
“No!” Before Diana could say anything, Howard interrupted in a deep voice.
Dennis laughed and teased Howard, “Why so stingy? It’s just a name.”
“Dennis!” Howard’s face darkened, and he warned in a low voice.
