Chapter 19
“Thanks,” Diana said with a smile, taking the glass of water.
Lately, Benjamin had been hovering around her, and it was pretty clear what he was thinking.
Diana didn’t call him out on it and just let him daydream.
But she was still very aware that she was a married woman. Other than the usual daily interactions, she would firmly turn down any invites for meals or other solo activities.
“Diana, to celebrate you fixing this painting, how about dinner tonight? My treat,” Benjamin asked again, not giving up.
This was the fiftieth time Benjamin had asked her out alone, and it was also the fiftieth time Diana had turned him down.
“No, I need to go home and have dinner with my family,” Diana replied with a faint smile.
“Diana, are you going to be with your husband?” Benjamin asked, looking disappointed.
Diana’s smile faltered for a moment. The family she mentioned was actually Sophia.
But since she and Howard were married, calling him family was also correct, though mainly she was going to have dinner with Sophia.
Recently, Sophia had been in a good mood and her health was improving, which finally put Diana at ease.
“Ms. Getty.” At that moment, Joshua walked over happily and said, “Mr. Martin is holding an auction in three days. Are you interested in checking it out?”
“Auction?” Diana caught on quickly. “That painting is going to be auctioned, right?”
“Yes.” Joshua nodded. “Mr. Martin will send someone to pick up the painting tomorrow.”
“Alright, I happen to want to see what good items are at Mr. Martin’s auction,” Diana said with a light smile.
“Okay, I’ll make the arrangements,” Joshua said, then turned and left.
Diana didn’t pay any mind to Benjamin’s longing gaze. After saying goodbye to him, she quickly walked out of the store and headed towards the Bentley parked by the roadside,
Ever since Howard found out she occasionally worked here, he would come to pick her up every time she was in the area.
As soon as Diana got in the car, it sped away.
“There’s an auction at Heritage Auctions in three days. You’re coming with me,” Howard said flatly.
‘Heritage Auctions? What a coincidence?‘ Diana couldn’t help but think.
Not hearing a response from Diana for a while, Howard glanced at her in surprise.
“What? You don’t want to go?” Howard asked coldly.
“Not really…” Diana replied.
“Grandma asked me to take you,” Howard interrupted Diana.
Diana felt it was unnecessary to emphasize that it was Sophia’s order. Somehow, she felt a lump in her chest, and it was uncomfortable not to say it out loud.
She said, “I was planning to go anyway. Mr. Thomas from the antique shop will arrange it for me.”
Howard’s face stiffened, and he said coldly, “You’re going with me.”

His firm words left no room for refusal.
Diana pursed her lips and turned to look at the street scene flying by outside the car window, saying nothing.

Soon, the Bentley stopped in front of a luxuriously decorated styling shop.
Diana came back to her senses, blinked, and looked at Howard with a puzzled expression.
Howard got out of the car expressionlessly and then pulled Diana out.
He looked Diana up and down, his eyes full of obvious disdain. “If you go to the auction looking like this, I’m afraid they’ll throw you out thinking
you’re a…”
Hearing that, Diana thought, ‘What’s wrong with my outfit? A white shirt and casual pants–convenient, clean, and comfortable, but Howard still complains. Besides, I am just going to the auction to see, not to socialize, so why dress so extravagantly?‘
Ignoring Diana’s thoughts, Howard dragged her into the styling shop, introduced her to a stylist, and had her completely made over from head to
toe.
Two hours later, Diana stared at her reflection in the mirror, barely recognizing herself.
Besides her hair, Howard had picked out a purple tulle dress adorned with pearls for her. Wearing this dress, paired with pearl jewelry, Diana looked both pure and enchanting, making her stand out.”
Howard watched Diana posing in front of the mirror, a hint of amazement flashing in his eyes.
From the first time they met, Howard knew Diana was beautiful.
He had seen many beautiful women, but a woman as stunning and unique as Diana was a first.
Back at the Spencer Villa, Sophia couldn’t stop praising the dress and even complimented Howard’s taste.
Hearing this, Diana just smiled gently.
Since she was going to the auction with Howard, Diana couldn’t go with Joshua.
When Benjamin heard this, his disappointment was obvious. He had been hoping to use this opportunity to pursue Diana.
Joshua patted Benjamin’s shoulder helplessly and said softly, “Benjamin, you should give up. Ms. Getty is already married, don’t waste your time on her.”
“No! Lots of people get divorced because they don’t get along. And I think Diana’s husband is pretty indifferent to her, they don’t look like a couple, so I still have a chance,” Benjamin said stubbornly.
Undoubtedly, Benjamin was quite perceptive at times.
Seeing that he couldn’t persuade him, Joshua could only sigh helplessly.
Benjamin was too stubborn, hopefully, he wouldn’t get too hurt in the future.
Three days later, Diana showed up at the Heritage Auctions in the purple tulle dress adorned with pearls, alongside Howard.
As soon as Diana made her appearance, she instantly attracted everyone’s attention.
Joshua and Benjamin had arrived at the venue before Diana. Seeing the stunning Diana, Benjamin’s admiration almost overflowed.
Djana kept her eyes straight ahead, ignoring the amazed, jealous, and admiring gazes from the crowd, and followed Howard into a VIP room.
As soon as they sat down, the host announced the official start of the auction.
This auction was unprecedented, with countless rare items on display, truly living up to Heritage Auctions‘ reputation.

Chapter 19
Diana watched the rare items being auctioned off one by
“Didn’t see anything you like?” Howard asked beside her.
Since earlier, Howard’s gaze had been fixed on Diana. Under the enchanting lights of the auction, Diana’s delicate face was hard to look away from.
Howard noticed the changing expressions on Diana’s face, indicating her interest in many of the displayed items, yet she hadn’t bid on anything.
If Diana liked something, he wouldn’t mind helping her bid on it and giving it to her.
Diana glanced at Howard and asked softly, “What do you think Grandma would like?”
Howard was taken aback. “You want to give something to Grandma?”
“Yes, otherwise why would I come to the auction?” Diana shrugged and said.
Howard was silent for a moment, then said, “As long as it’s from you, Grandma will be delighted.”
Howard’s words were true. Given Sophia’s affection for Diana, even if Diana gave her a worthless trinket, she would be delighted.
