Chapter 7 The New Owner of Skyrend Hotel
Chapter 7 The New Owner of Skyrend Hotel
Since Cordelia refused to divorce, the two families remained in–laws.
But after Sabrina caused such chaos at today’s wedding, neither family would let her off easily.
The grudge had only deepened.

Vania’s voice was ice–cold. “That little brat from the Nelsons doesn’t know her place. She had the nerve to wreck the wedding; she’ll pay a price too heavy for her to handle.
“Rhea, don’t bother leaving them a way out.”
Rhea nodded. “Understood, Mom.”
If the Nelsons had gone bankrupt and Sabrina had stayed quiet, this could’ve been the end of it.
But since she insisted on fighting to the bitter end, the Roffes wouldn’t play nice.
Sabrina’s mother was still in the hospital recovering from a stroke. She would be the first target for retaliation.
After all, she was the one who had bought Alisa years ago, forcing her into marriage with her brain–damaged son as a child bride.
Vania had once thought to let the woman linger on, barely clinging to life. Now, she saw no reason.
Downstairs at the wedding, Alisa sat beside Megan.
“Sabrina really doesn’t know when to quit,” Megan muttered. “Alisa, do you think Cordelia will end up divorcing?”
“It’s inevitable,” Alisa said evenly. “But not now. If she divorced today, it would give them the satisfaction of watching a big, juicy scandal unfold. Cordelia won’t allow that–and knowing her, she won’t swallow this humiliation easily.”
Cordelia had married into the Garners now.
Darcy’s life after marriage, Alisa knew, would be anything but peaceful.
In the original story, Cordelia was portrayed as a bitter, resentful wife who stirred up trouble in the Garners‘ household, driving Darcy further away until Sabrina twisted things just enough to push them to divorce. By then, the Roffes were ruined, and Cordelia ended up as a madwoman wandering the streets.

Alisa had no intention of letting history repeat itself, but waking Cordelia up to reality was necessary.
Megan nodded. “True. Even if she wants out, Cordelia would endure for our sake. Her wedding gift was that plot in Eastmaw. Once the shopping district opens, she could divorce; there’s no need to rush it.”
Megan leaned closer. “But how did Sabrina find out Darcy was cheating? I heard she grew up isolated in the mountains, and the moment she came back, she somehow knew all this? She’s definitely not the harmless type.”
That much Megan had right.
Sabrina was the story’s sole heroine–she wouldn’t be easily crushed.
Megan thought of something; her eyes lit with curiosity. “Alisa, how did you know she was auctioned off at the Auric Clubs for 50 million? Without you exposing that, she might’ve stolen the spotlight today.
Alisa’s lips curved. “Just something I happened to dig up. Didn’t think I’d get to use it so soon–it was pure coincidence.”
Well, thank goodness for your foresight”

As they spoke, members of both families descended from the second floor.
They couldn’t disappear too long; it was important to mingle with the guests.
When they approached, Alisa and Megan rose to greet them.
Alisa was the hero of the day. Both Vania and Rhea clasped her hands warmly, lavishing her with praise.

After the reception, the wedding became the talk of Qodon’s upper–crust circles.
But compared to how it had gone in the original storyline, things were already much better.
Sabrina hadn’t gained anything–in fact, by wrecking the wedding, she’d earned the public enmity of two families. From now on, anyone in high society who wanted to befriend Sabrina would have to weigh whether she was worth the risk of making enemies of both the Roffes and the Garners.
Two days later, Alisa officially took over Skyrend Hotel.
Built at the base of Mount Ternola, the Skyrend Hotel rose like an early 20th–century castle, its architecture unmatched in the entire region, with a reputation for ironclad discretion.
Its first owner, Erasmus, had passed it down to Rhea after his death.
Now, Alisa would become its third master.
A white Bentley rolled to a stop before the grand entrance. On either side of the doors, the hotel’s staff–bellhops, receptionists, and the personnel manager–stood in neat lines, waiting.
A valet stepped forward to open the car door. Alisa emerged in a fitted black suit, the cut sharp yet understated.
“Good morning, Ms. Alisa,” the staff chorused.
Her gaze swept over them before she stepped inside.
The personnel manager fell into step beside her, offering a tour of the layout and introducing key department heads.
The general manager’s office was on the fifth floor.
Rhea’s personal belongings had already been cleared; the shelves now stood bare, waiting for Alisa to make them her own.
“We didn’t know your preferences for décor, so nothing’s been ordered yet,” the manager explained.
“No need,” Alisa said, glancing at the floor–to–ceiling oak cabinets. “I have things I’ll bring in myself.”
“Understood, Ms. Alisa.
She took a seat behind the desk. “Bring me the guest registry.”
The manager, slightly puzzled, handed her a thick leather–bound book containing the profiles and check–in records of every member guest.
He found it odd; he hadn’t expected the first thing she’d ask for to be guest records instead of the quarterly financials.
Rhea had always prioritized profit reports and barely skimmed through guest logs.
However, Alisa was different.
She wasn’t concerned with the hotel’s revenue, but with who was staying under this roof.
“All verified identities?” she asked.

“Yes, though, for certain high–profile clients, the reservation might be made under a driver’s name. We occasionally let it
slide.”
“Haha!”
A faint, cold smile curved her lips. The manager shifted uncomfortably, a bead of sweat trickling down his temple.
She read through the entire registry before closing it.
“Bring me a cup of tea.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
When he left, Alisa leaned back, fingers drumming lightly on the armrest, eyes drifting shut.
By now, she figured, Sabrina was making her first big move.
Her first revealed identity was international painter, Mino.
With her family going bankrupt, they needed a fortune to patch the financial hole.
Sabrina painted a work herself and brought it to an auction house–where she crossed paths with Preston. The moment Preston learned the piece was hers, he declared it a forgery.
It ended with Sabrina unmasking her identity and humiliating Preston, leaving him deeply humiliated.
The painting sold for over 100 million, paying off part of the Nelsons‘ debt.
She then partnered with the auction house owner, selling several more works until she’d cleared the debt entirely and built the capital for a comeback.
Alisa’s mission was to protect the Roffes and herself.
She couldn’t stand by while Sabrina turned each public reveal of her identity into a boost to her prestige.
The personnel manager returned, setting a delicate cup of tea before her.
“Your tea, ma’am.”
Alisa opened her eyes, took a slow sip, and asked casually, “Has Mrs. Cantrell checked out yet?”
