Chapter 33 Twisted Games
Nathaniel still wanted to persuade Waylon to kick Estella out

But Waylon looked troubled. “Estella was Mr. Chase’s personal pick. And she has someone backing her–I can’t make that kind of decision.”
Nathaniel was stunned. Estella had someone backing her?
As far as he knew, her family had gone bankrupt, and she had no powerful or wealthy relatives. Who could be supporting her?
Worried that Estella might have taken the wrong path and started clinging to some rich patron, he immediately called his assistant again. “Investigate the men around Estella.”
Estella and Jonathan were just about to head out to celebrate when they ran into Nathaniel and Isabelle.
Isabelle turned to Estella. “Estella, Nathaniel got me into the orchestra. He’s throwing a celebration party for me. You should
come too.”
As she spoke, she reached out to grab Estella’s hand.
Without hesitation, Estella jerked her hand away.
Isabelle let herself fall to the ground with the motion.
Nathaniel immediately rushed to help her up.
Looking fragile and soft, Isabelle said to him, “I lost my balance–it’s not Estella’s fault. Please don’t be mad at her.”
Nathaniel turned to Estella, his gaze darkening with anger. “Estella, don’t go too far. Isabelle invited you out of kindness. You should be grateful.”
Estella nearly rolled her eyes.
“Nathaniel, if you and Isabelle want to whisper sweet nothings to each other, go do it somewhere else. Just don’t drag me into it. It’s disgusting.”
Nathaniel thought she was jealous and explained, “Isabelle and I grew up together. Of course I treat her well–we’ve known each other forever. Don’t get paranoid. It’s not what you think.”
“Whatever it is, it has nothing to do with me.”
Then she gagged.
Jonathan immediately stepped in, concerned. “What’s wrong?”
Estella patted her chest and looked directly at Nathaniel and Isabelle. “I saw something dirty. Suddenly felt sick.”
Nathaniel’s expression darkened like a storm.
“Estella, you’ve clearly been out on your own for too long. You’ve lost all sense of decency. Tomorrow, you’re coming back with me. It’s time you learned your place!”
“Not a chance.
Estella took Jonathan’s hand and walked away.
They headed to a nearby restaurant, Jiayue.
They ordered a full table of food and a bottle of wine.
Estella was in high spirits. She raised her glass to Jonathan.

Jonathan warned her, “Take it slow. The alcohol content isn’t high, but it hits hard later.”
Estella laughed. “Got it.”
Halfway through dinner, she got up to use the restroom.
But just as she stepped out, she ran into Isabelle in the hallway.
Isabelle’s eyes flashed when she saw her.
“What a coincidence, Estella. I didn’t expect you to be here too.”
Estella didn’t respond and walked straight ahead.
But Isabelle grabbed her hand. “Don’t go. Since we bumped into each other, let’s hang out!”
She forcibly dragged Estella into her private room.
Inside were Nathaniel and a bunch of their friends.
The moment they saw Estella, amused smirks spread across everyone’s faces.
Nathaniel stood when he saw her, visibly cheered up. “Since you’re here, sit down and join us.”
Isabelle pushed her down next to a man.
Estella had seen this guy in Naomi’s social media before. He was Quinton Clocke, the oldest son of the Clocke family.
One look into his eyes and she knew–he was a playboy through and through.
Estella tried to get up and leave, but Quinton blocked her.
“We’re playing truth or dare. Want in?”
No one cared that Estella was clearly unwilling.
The bottle spun around once–then landed squarely on Estella.
Quinton smirked lazily. “Truth or dare?”
Estella answered reluctantly. “Truth.”
Quinton grinned. “Is there someone here who makes your heart race?
As soon as he asked, Nathaniel looked at her anxiously.
Estella had long since lost all feelings for Nathaniel. She answered directly, “No.”
Everyone in the room let out a drawn–out “Ooooh-”
Nathaniel felt as if something was squeezing his heart. He picked up his glass and downed his drink in one gulp.
The
game
continued, and whether it was bad luck or not, the bottle soon pointed to Estella again.
Quinton, clearly enjoying himself, said, “I want to know–who was your first kiss?”
The crowd erupted with teasing.
Isabelle looked over at Nathaniel.
Nathaniel, meanwhile, kept his eyes fixed on Estella.
He had never cared about her dating history before they got married.
But now, he found himself wanting–no, needing–to hear her say his name.

Estella searched her memory.
Nathaniel had been her first man.
Her first time had been with him.
They’d had a few moments of intimacy when they were first married.
But he had never once kissed her.
She answered coolly, “I choose dare.”
A clear refusal to answer.
