Chapter 29 1 Believe in You
“Mr. Bennett, you’ve helped me again.
Jonathan asked her, “Still working out”
Estella shook her head.
“Then let’s walk together.”

The two walked back side by side. Noticing that she was lightly dressed, Jonathan took off his coat and draped it over her shoulders.
Estella didn’t refuse and simply thanked him.
Not far away, Jeremy, who had been on his way to visit his younger brother, stopped in his tracks, his face filled with disbelief. He turned to his assistant. “I remember Jon being a complete germaphobe. Who would’ve thought falling in love could cure that nasty habit?”
The assistant was equally astonished.
Jeremy stroked his chin. “Looks like my little brother is finally opening up.”
He had planned to grab a late–night snack with Jonathan, but now, he suddenly had no desire to play third wheel.
“Forget it. I’ll just video call Mia instead..
With that, Jeremy turned and strode away.
Then, as if remembering something, he muttered, “Didn’t he tell me three months ago that he was moving? Why hasn’t there been any follow–up?”
The assistant replied, “Maybe it’s because of Ms. Hayes, I heard she’s Mr. Bennett’s neighbor.”
Jeremy’s eyes flashed with understanding.
“That kid definitely inherited the Bennett family’s gift for pursuing women.”
On the day of the competition, Estella left home early and ran into Jonathan at the entrance.
Jonathan glanced at his watch. “It’s still early. I’ll drive you there.”
Estella hesitated. “It’s okay. I can go on my own.”
Jonathan said calmly, “It won’t take long.”
Without further protest, Estella got into the car.
Jonathan noticed she had forgotten to buckle her seatbelt and reminded her, “Seatbelt.
Startled, Estella quickly reached for it.
Seeing her slightly stiff posture, Jonathan asked, “Are you nervous?”
Estella patted her chest lightly. -I’nrokay.
Jonathan kept his eyes on the road as he said, “I believe in you. You’ve got this.”
His quiet confidence eased the tension in her chest.
Before long, they arrived at the concert hall.

Jonathan got out and opened the door for her. “Will you be alright on your own?”
Estella nodded.
Jonathan reached out and tousled her hair. “I’ll be waiting for good news.”
“Okay.”
He watched her step inside but didn’t leave immediately. Instead, he entered through a side door to find Chase.

Isabelle, as the daughter of one of the event’s investors, had been given a private lounge arranged by Bernard.
Through the doorway, she spotted Estella and her expression darkened instantly.
She called Bernard over. “Why is Estella here? Didn’t you delete her registration?” ”
Bernard looked equally baffled.
He reassured her, “Don’t worry, she’s not on the list. I’ll have her removed right away.”
“Hurry up and get rid of her.”
Regardless of Estella’s abilities, Isabelle refused to let her interfere.
Bernard approached Estella and said, “Apologies, miss, but you’re not registered. You don’t have the qualifications to compete.”
Estella’s brows furrowed. “That’s impossible. I registered successfully.”
Bernard shook his head. “We never received your application. According to the rules, you’re not eligible to participate.”
“That can’t be right.”
Estella refused to leave. “I clearly submitted my form.”
This competition was an invaluable opportunity, so she wasn’t about to let it slip through her fingers.
Worried that she might cause a scene and draw the attention of other staff members, Bernard hurriedly pushed her toward the exit.
At that moment, Chase’s assistant, Zayn, happened to pass by. Noticing the commotion, he immediately stepped in, blocking Bernard.
“Mr. Bernard, Ms. Hayes is registered. Her name is on the official list.”
He pulled out a tablet and pointed directly at Estella’s name.
Bernard’s expression stiffened. With several staff members watching, he had no choice but to back down.
Forcing a smile, he said, “My apologies, Ms. Hayes. That was my mistake.”
Estella dusted off her clothes. Though displeased, she didn’t press the issue.
Knowing that Estella was under Chase’s special attention, Zayn personally escorted her to a lounge.
Bernard returned to Isabelle’s private room.
Isabelle’s face twisted with anger. “How could you mess up something this simple? Now what?”
Afraid she would take back the apartment she had promised him, Bernard quickly reassured her, “Ms. Isabelle, don’t worry. I’ll make sure Estella can’t compete.”

Estella had barely settled in when Bernard reappeared.

This time, he set a steaming cup of coffee in front of her, his expression obsequious. “Ms. Hayes, I sincerely apologize for earlier. I had no idea you knew Mr. Chase. Please, accept this coffee as a token of my apology.”
Estella neither responded nor touched the coffee.
Seeing her indifference, Bernard grew anxious. “Ms. Hayes, are you still upset? I swear, it was a mistake. I even brewed this coffee myself. Just take a sip, and let’s put this behind us, alright?”
