Nelson ordered the men to deal with Lila.LER TRAAG
She lay on the floor, laughing hysterically.
“Nelson, no matter how you try to punish me, you’ll never get rid of me. Steve will never let you divorce me. The son I had with him? He plans to put that child under your name.
“I told you I’m staying with you for life. And if he doesn’t keep that promise, I’ll expose everything he’s ever done.”
Nelson’s eyes turned colder than ice.
At that moment, a message popped up on his phone. It was from his attorney.
Two divorce decrees.
He spoke, calm and final.
“From now on, my grandfather has no say in anything I do. Lila, we’re officially divorced.”
He dropped the printed divorce decrees in front of her.
That was what truly broke her.
She screamed, sobbing in agony.
“No! I’ll always be Mrs. Voss! I am Mrs. Voss!”
Nelson watched as the beggars began tearing at her clothes.
Without another word, he turned and walked out of the abandoned warehouse.
Outside, he gave a cold order to his bodyguards.
“Tomorrow morning, deliver her to the police station. Bring the driver who hit her too. Hand over
all the evidence. File charges against Lila–for attempted murder.”
Nelson went to First General Hospital in Silverpine.
He found Eliot there.
Eliot was the only clean–cut one in their entire social circle.

He didn’t look surprised to see Nelson.
“Nelson, these are Jessie’s pregnancy records.”
Nelson took the report. His eyes turned red as he stared at the words.
Jessie–one and a half months pregnant. Twins.
Pain tore through his chest. He couldn’t breathe.
His tall, upright frame stumbled back. He couldn’t even stand straight. His handsome face turned pale, completely drained of color.
His voice shook.
“She was really carrying my children… Twins?”
Eliot adjusted his glasses, his voice soft with a sigh.
“After you refused to let her do IVF, she came to me in secret. She begged me not to tell you. For the
past few months, she went through multiple egg retrievals, rounds of IVF. The pain she endured…
you can’t begin to imagine it.”
“She wanted a child so badly. She kept saying that her love for you left her with no regrets, but a
baby… that was the one thing she wanted to give you. Her greatest gift.”
Nelson covered his eyes with his trembling fingers.
Tears soaked through his hands.
The agony in his voice was unbearable.
“How many injections did she have to take?”
Eliot replied quietly.
“At least seventy–eight hormone injections to maintain the pregnancy. And every time–she came
alone. You never knew.”
Nelson’s voice cracked, full of anguish.
“She was always so afraid of pain. Always…”
Eliot went on.

“When the treatment worked, she was so happy. She said she was going to surprise you on your
anniversary.”
By then, the news about Nelson and Jessie had already spread across Silverpine. Everyone knew.
Eliot didn’t need to say another word. Nelson understood everything now.
He had let Jessie find out about his betrayal.
Eliot looked at him, expression tight.
“After Mr. Hale passed away and the funeral ended, you left the country.
But Mr. Hale, in his will, he left everything to you and Jessie–jointly. To claim it, you both needed to present a legal marriage license.”
Nelson’s face went ashen.
The marriage license he had given Jessie seven years ago… was fake.
She couldn’t transfer the inheritance into both their names.
Mr. Hale’s generosity. Jessie’s love. Even a fortune like that couldn’t compare to the trust behind it.
And he had betrayed them both.
Then Eliot delivered the final blow.
“Nelson, Jessie will never be able to have children again. She gave up the only chance she had at motherhood. Just to cut ties with you completely.”
Nelson collapsed forward, his hands covering his face.
And then he broke, sobbing uncontrollably.
“Jessie… Jessie!”
