“Wait a moment.” I composed myself, hid around the corner, and called Declan.
I knew they felt sorry for me and meant well.]
But I couldn’t fool myself.
I didn’t believe Declan would stop.
The phone was answered almost instantly. Before I could speak, Declan launched into accusations:
“What now? How are you going to lose it this time?“]
“Sophia, I really don’t understand how you became like this. Yesterday you pulled that stunt, and I didn’t fight with you because you’re pregnant-“]]
“But look at you, giving me the silent treatment, not even making breakfast…“]
I looked at the faint glow emanating from inside the car.
My expression was calm. “Didn’t you say your childhood dream was to marry me and make me your princess forever?“[]
“Just two months ago, you said you wanted to work hard to be a good father and husband…“[]

“Hiss…” Declan let out a low moan, then raised his voice:
“You’re in your twenties–can’t you stop being so childish?“||
“Mm.” I walked toward the car as I spoke:
“I understand. It won’t happen again.“]
“That’s more like it.” Declan laughed:
“I work hard every day to support the family too. As long as you stop looking for trouble and giving me headaches, that’s all ask.”
“Jenna’s getting married to Marcus anyway, so we’ll inevitably see them often. From now on, you should…“]]
Knock.
Knock.
Knock.
I bent down and knocked on the car window, one tap after another.]
The next second, what came into view was Declan’s face, pale with shock.]
