Upon hearing this, everyone fell silent.
Then there was a louder burst of sarcastic laughter!
“She says she’s the Lynn Corporation heiress?”
“The billionaire’s her dad? Has she lost her mind, or is she so traumatized she’s talking nonsense?”
“Oh please! If you’re the Lynn heiress, then I’m the President!”
Sage doubled over laughing, even tears streaming down her face.
“The Lynn heiress? The Lynn heiress is the young master of Ritz–Carlton, my brother Sterling Whitmore’s fiancée!”
“I won’t even ask you to call your billionaire daddy–if you’ve got the guts, get your fiancé to come teach us a lesson!”
“Really, if you’re gonna lie, at least make it believable. This is hilarious.”
In this ultimate humiliation, a familiar figure approached.
It was Reed.
He was in a sharp suit, looking refined and elegant. When he saw me, surprise and pity flashed in his eyes.
“Willa? Sage? What’s going on here?”
He looked at the mess and my pitiful state on the floor, frowned slightly, then looked down at me condescendingly.
“Willa, how did you end up like this? Did you cause trouble again?”
“But if you just ask me, beg me to help you, for old time’s sake, this little loss, I might be able to…”
Before he could finish saying “handle it,” there was a commotion at the hotel entrance.
The crowd of onlookers quickly parted to make way.
“That’s Sterling Whitmore? Oh my, he’s so tall and handsome!”
“Duh, he’s elite trained by a top–tier family. Of course his presence is different!”
A strikingly handsome man in a perfectly tailored pure black custom suit strode in.
His gaze locked precisely on me.
The moment he saw me being held down on the floor, covered in filth, his expression turned absolutely murderous.
