At least I found out in time.[]
I efficiently removed my ring and placed it in a drawer, gathered everything that belonged to me, blocked Knox’s contact information, and left with my already–packed suitcase.

Afraid she might find him repulsive, he changed out of the clothes that had gotten dirty from childcare and took a shower.]]
Just as he stepped out of the bathroom, Ruby suddenly embraced him from behind.[]
“Fresh from the shower? Want to fool around?“[]

Knox instantly lost his patience.[]
Does it have to be today? Is the mall closing down forever?”]
His temper flared, and he spoke harshly.[]
“You’re being dramatic now? You’re just making me sick. Remember, you’re nothing but the other woman.
Ruby was stunned, momentarily speechless.]
She never expected Knox, who had always taken her side, to suddenly turn on her.]]
As Knox slammed the door on his way out, Ruby collapsed to the floor, seething with resentment.[]
An hour later, Knox arrived at his home, carrying a dress he’d specially bought for Aria.]]
Just imagining how happy Aria would be wearing this dress made him smile.
Excitedly pushing open the door, the sight before him left him frozen in shock.]
The house showed no signs of life, though the layout and decorations remained exactly as they were a
