Javon tossed the signed document back.
Then, he lifted Shayla in his arms and gently reassured her, “Shay, don’t be afraid. I’ll take you to the hospital.”
It had been Jaelynn who pushed him toward Shayla, and Jaelynn would definitely regret it.
However, Jaelynn didn’t react.
Clutching the document, she headed straight to the publicity department.
She stayed busy until 3 PM, finally getting a chance to sit down.
The pain in her injured arm was still noticeable.
Holding her phone, Jaelynn was thinking about going to the hospital when a message suddenly came through.
“Ms. Norton, your artwork has arrived from the Calhoun’s mansion. I’m at my office now. Do you have time to come?”

“I do. I’ll be there right away.”
Jaelynn went straight to the Calhoun Group building.
The receptionist greeted her with a polite smile, “Ms. Norton, hello. Mr. Calhoun is expecting you in his office. Please follow me.”

Jaelynn stepped into the building.
The elevator climbed to the 68th floor, where the president’s office was located.
The first time she visited, Jaelynn had taken polite glance around.
The black–and–white color scheme reflected careful, exacting control.

Agustin looked up from behind his
desk.
His suit jacket hung neatly behind him, and he wore a light–blue shirt with a

distant air.
“Good afternoon, Mr. Calhoun,” Jaelynn replied with a smile.

Agustin walked over to the sofa and gestured toward it.
Following his lead, Jaelynn noticed a boxed set of artworks on the table.
She opened the box carefully, but her right hand was weak, and she had to stop. Agustin frowned as he noticed her hesitation. “Ms. Norton, is your right hand injured?”
Jaelynn explained, “It was an accident in the company elevator today. I bumped it.”
Without another word, Agustin stood and picked up the internal phone. “Have my personal doctor come here.”
Jaelynn said quickly, “There’s no need. I plan to go to the hospital soon.”
“Can you even get an appointment at this hour?”
He walked back to her, his voice cautious, “Do you mind if I take a look at your injury?”
Jaelynn hesitated for a moment, then nodded.
She rolled up the sleeve of her right arm.
Agustin leaned in slightly, pressing his fingertips gently against the injury.
“Let’s wait for the doctor to decide if you need the hospital. If I hadn’t stopped you, you would have gone already. Your hands are for designing,

At that time, she wasn’t well–known, yet the auction price had been surprisingly high.
Agustin’s heartbeat skipped slightly as he met her gaze.
He looked at the lifelike jade sculpture of a girl, and a flash of hidden emotion crossed his deep eyes.

“This piece feels alive to me. I didn’t know the designer then, but I collected it because of its value. Now that you’ve returned to jewelry design, proves my investment was the right choice.”

The light in Jaelynn’s eyes reflected her renewed passion for her dream.
“I’ve been thinking about the fee for lending the collection for display,” Agustin said, his deep voice steady, eyes locked on hers.
“I hope your next design will be given to me.”
The quiet depth in his smile hinted at a long–held intention.
