Not wanting to watch anymore, I turned to leave.[]
I had barely taken two steps when Lucia called out to me.[]
“Nina!” She waved with a bright smile, holding her phone out to me.[]
“Luca took me ring shopping today. Help me see which one matches this necklace best?“[]
She deliberately lifted the dazzling diamond necklace at her chest-“Eternal Heart.“[]
Half a month ago, I had nearly been paralyzed obtaining this piece from the British Royal Collection.[]
Noticing my gaze, Lucia’s smile deepened.[]
“I saw this necklace on TV half a month ago and casually mentioned I liked it. I never expected Luca to immediately send you
to get it.”
She shot Luca a coquettish glance, her voice sickeningly sweet.[]
“He said this necklace has good meaning, symbolizing our undying love.“[]
“By the way, I heard you got hurt back then. You’re okay now, right?“]
I saw through her feigned innocence and didn’t bother responding, mentally calculating how to settle the crew’s arrangements.]
Seeing she hadn’t achieved her goal, Lucia secretly gritted her teeth and turned to act spoiled with Luca.
“Luca, we still need a maid of honor for the wedding. Can we have Nina do it?“]
“Sure.”
“No.“]

He looked at me in disbelief: “You want to be the maid of honor?“]]
I nodded calmly: “Yes.“[]
I knew Lucia’s intentions, but I no longer cared.[]
Luca stared at me for a long time, so long that Lucia had to cough repeatedly before he snapped back to reality.[]
He actually hurried away carrying Lucia, looking flustered.]]
Three days before the wedding, I had my belongings shipped in batches to Marcus’s estate.

“Nina, we’re still friends.“[]

My heart ached terribly, but I forced a smile: “No need. I’m sincere about it.“[]

She stepped closer, malice flooding her eyes: “I said you’re old and ugly, a parent–killer who deserved to be used for nine years-“]
“Ah!” Lucia suddenly screamed and fell to the ground, putting on a terrified act. “Nina, I really didn’t steal Luca from you. Don’t hit me!“]]
Luca rushed over at the sound. Seeing the scene, his eyes turned ice–cold as he raised his hand and slapped me.]
My cheek burned with pain. I licked the blood from the corner of my mouth, my eyes reddening.[]
“You believe whatever she says?“]
He sneered coldly.
“What else? Should I believe some lowlife like you with no parents to teach her right from wrong?“]
