I’d never talked to Xavier like that before. Hearing me go completely savage, he just stood there stunned.[]
“Toni… what the hell happened to you?“[]
Sophie quickly grabbed Xavier’s arm, tears streaming down her face.]
“Mr. Morrison, don’t fight with Miss Sterling because of me. I must’ve done something wrong to make her this angry. Please don’t be mad at her…“[]
Well, if I was going nuclear, might as well go all the way.[]
I let out a cold laugh and slapped Sophie across the face so hard it echoed through the room.]
“I didn’t do jack shit that you’re accusing me of. Stop trying to pin this crap on me.“]
“But this slap? Yeah, that one’s all mine, bitch.“]
Xavier stepped forward ready to fight, but Sophie bit her lip and shook her head like some martyr.]
“It’s fine, Mr. Morrison. Miss Sterling’s angry and needs to let it out. I’m just the hired help – it’s totally normal for Miss Sterling to discipline me.“]]
“Please don’t cause more trouble with Miss Sterling over me, or I really won’t be able to stay with your family anymore.“[]
Xavier was clenching his jaw, staring at Sophie like she was some broken angel.[]
“This is exactly why she keeps screwing with you – ‘cause you’re too damn sweet.“]]
“Don’t worry, Sophie. Nobody’s gonna touch you while I’m here. I swore I’d keep you safe…“[]
I was so over their little drama show.[]
Before Xavier could finish playing hero, I walked right past them and headed upstairs.[]
When I got to the study, Grandpa Morrison was sitting in his rocking chair by the window.[]
Seeing me walk in, he waved me over with a smile.[]
“Come here, sweetheart. Let grandpa get a good look at you.”
“Your parents already filled me in. That grandson of mine doesn’t know what he’s missing. The Kane boy’s a good catch though
he’ll treat you right.“]
We chatted for about half an hour before I figured it was time to go.
I stood up to say goodbye to the old man.]
Walking past a bedroom near the study, I heard some seriously nasty sounds coming from inside.

Following the noise, I peeked through the crack in the door.
Xavier and Sophie were going at it on the bed.]]
Sophie’s voice was all breathy and fake.[]
“We can’t do this now… Miss Sterling’s still in grandpa’s study. What if she sees us?”
But Xavier didn’t slow down one bit.[]
“Relax, I locked the door. And so what if she sees? I don’t love her anyway – she’s been throwing herself at me this whole time.“]
“Sophie, my sweet Sophie… I’ll give you everything you want…“|

The whole room reeked of sex.

Right at that moment, Sophie’s eyes shifted and locked
Xavier said he’d locked the door, but it was wide fucking open.]]
That’s when it all clicked.[]
Sophie did this on purpose. She opened that door knowing I’d walk by.[]

I smiled slightly and thoughtfully closed the door for them.[]
I’d never seen Xavier lose control like that before.]
