Chapter 2
Who was the woman he’d marned two years ago? And what really happened in that car accident…7%
It was almost noon when Winona arrived at the office.
“Good morning. Ms. Thome 1
The staff in the executive suite greeted her as she walked past Winona nodded silently in return.
Her desk was already covered with stacks of paperwork. She reviewed each file carefully, selected a few, and took them to Tyson for his signature.
He sat behind his desk–handsome, composed, exuding a natural authority that made him seem imposing even when seated.
But as soon as she entered, his demeanor softened ||
He signed the documents she delivered, then looked up at her, concern etched on his face.
“You don’t look well.”
Tm just tired. Nothing serious.
This project has been a lot of work for you lately.” Tyson reached out and gently pinched her cheek, then, as if performing a magic trick, produced a long velvet box.
“A surprise.”
Winona accepted the box in silence and opened ill
Inside lay a stunning diamond necklace–she recognized it immediately as the latest limited edition from Solara.S
Tyson stood and wrapped his arms around her bending to kiss her forehead. But Winona tumed her head away, dodging his lips.
She found him repulsive.
“Nona?” Tyson’s gaze darkened.
Over the years, he’d given her countless gifts, and shed always responded with delight. But this time…
“Thank you. I really like it.” Winona lowered her eyes, closed the box, and added in a quiet voice, “But this is the office. We should keep things professional
Tyson chuckled, ruffling her hair. “Nona, you’re always so sensible.
Back at her own desk, Winona set the necklace box aside without a second glance.”
She had to admit–Tyson always knew exactly what she liked.
If she hadn’t discovered his betrayal, receiving this necklace would have made her as happy as ever.
During her lunch break, Winona scrolled through all of Tyson’s social media accounts, searching for any clue, any slip.8
But everything he posted was either work–related or about her.
He was forever posting about their relationship, showing off in ways that drove his friends crazy with envy.
Now, as she looked back through all those sweet snapshots, she felt nothing but numbness.
But then, something caught her eye–a profile photo among the likes on one of his old posts.
it was a pale, slender hand, and around the wrist was a delicate bracelet, almost identical to one Tyson had once given her!
Her instincts kicked in. She tapped into this person’s profile
The latest post, dated just a day ago, read: “Someone sent me this necklace all the way from overseas. Absolutely loving it–2
There was a picture attached–the necklace in the photo was identical to the one Tyson had just given her.
Solara’s latest limited edition–only two in existence.
Winona let out a short, bitter laugh
One for her, one for another woman. Tyson really knew how to spread the love,” didn’t he?!
She closed the app and booked a flight for a month from now
There was still a project she was leading–it would take another month to finish, and her whole team had poured their hearts into it. She couldn’t just walk away.
But once the project wrapped, she would leave this place–and Tyson–for good.
After booking her ticket, she opened another chat window.X
Dad, I’ve made up my mind. I’m ready to come home and help with the family business.
And about that engagement. I’ll do it.
