And once he soothed her afterward, everything would return to normal.
Thinking of this, Ridley glanced at his phone again, waiting for someone to send word.!!
But before the message arrived, Lynzee appeared before him, her smile as sweet as honey.”
“Ridley, the wedding’s about to start. Let’s get ready to walk in.”
Ridley frowned and gave a curt nod.”
The very next second, his phone rang.!!
Unable to hide his impatience, he answered it at once.”
The venue was filled with lively noise, voices and laughter blending into a chaotic hum
Yet through it all, he heard the voice on the other end with chilling clarity.”
“S–Sir, the car you sent… it exploded. Ma’am Agnes was in there-“8

Ridley’s phone slipped from his hand and hit the floor with a sharp sound.”
He stood frozen, his entire body stiff as though rooted to the spot.
I could read it in his face–shock, disbelief.
The car he’d prepared for Agnes… exploded? How come?!
He had arranged everything perfectly, just a minor accident was supposed to happen. Nothing life–threatening.
It was supposed to be the perfect chance to fulfill the promise he’d made to me.
And yet somehow… it had ended in Agnes’s death? How could that be?
“No… impossible. How could something like this happen? It has to be fakel it has to be fake!” he roared, his voice breaking into fury.R
I instantly understood what had happened, a flicker of delight flashing through my eyes.
I allowed myself a quick, pleased glance at the phone on the floor before schooling my expression just as his gaze shifted.
The very next second, I put on a look of feigned concern.”
“Ridley,” I coaxed softly, “this might not be true. Maybe Agnes found out that today is our wedding day, and she’s using this to steal your attention.”
“After all, how could anything really happen to her? She’s so resourceful–she even managed to convince Thiago into kidnapping us, remember? For all we know, she staged this herself just to test us,” I added.”
My eyes shimmered, and two perfect tears rolled down my cheeks.
“If you leave now and abandon me here on our wedding day, Ridley, I’ll never be able to show my face again.”
I let my eyes redden with pitiful grievance as I clung to his sleeve.!!
“For the sake of the child I’m carrying–for the sake of our baby–please… stay.”
Ridley lowered his gaze, his voice hoarse. “Lynzee, whether it’s true or not, if something’s happened to Agnes, I have to make
sure she’s safe.”
“I know this wrongs you,” he continued, “but there’s no choice. Once I confirm she’s fine, I’ll make it up to you.”
His hand gave my sleeve a brief pat before he turned to leave.}
Behind him, I bit down hard, my teeth grinding. The tight grip i had on my wedding gown nearly tore the fabric.
I hadn’t imagined Agnes could still hold this much sway over him.
God, I’d worked too hard to drive them apart.
He had already even promised to marry me and make my child his family’s heir.
By all accounts, I had already won!
Yet now, Ridley got just a single report about Agnes being in an accident, and he was ready to walk away from our wedding without hesitation.X
For a moment, I couldn’t stop that thought from twisting my features into something feral.
But I forced down the hatred in my heart and curved my lips into a smile.
Lucky for me, when I had planned for Agnes’s “accident,” I had already anticipated this exact possibility.
Now, I just had to use my contingency.
Forcing my expression to soften, I stepped forward and took hold of his sleeve again, my voice as gentle as flowing water. “Ridley, I remember there are security cameras at the villa. If you really can’t rest easy, why don’t we check the footage first?” He hesitated, frowning.
But my gaze held him, and in the end, he nodded.
His phone was already damaged from the fall–making my work even easier.
I pulled up the footage I’d prepared in advance and handed the phone over
On the screen, Agnes sat calmly, reading a book.
In an instant, Ridley’s brows drew together.
“So she really went this far!”
His face twisted with anger, and he barked, “Does she not take her own life seriously at all? First, it was a kidnapping. Now, a car crash and explosion?”
This is too much!” he snapped. “This time, I’ll make sure she learns her lesson–so harshly she’ll never dare to do something like this again!”
